Funny enough, I've been (pretty much) with you on most of your complaints about things regarding the ACA since the beginning of your posts about it (at least the points that were verifiable and systemic, not anecdotal). However, the above post was a tremendous amount of hyperbole. Tremendous.eCat wrote:Obama is a moron

He seriously is in over his head. This has fucked the country - we may adjust to it long term but there is going to be some serious short term pain.
He's known this program is fundamentally broken and pushed it forward anyways just to save face at the expense of the working people.

6 people signed up for it on the first day it was available.
And the site was fucked up then and had issues.
LMAO, yeah, I trust the gubment to give me quality and affordable health care.
So, how hard is it to become a citizen of Canada???

Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

The deepest irony about that statement is that Canada has a single payer (i.e. Socialist) health care system. I don't think you even need to be a citizen, so you're in luck. Just get a job up there and you're set.

Basically, you need a whole bunch of MONEY $$$$ or you need some mad STEM skilz to become a Federalized citizen. Quebec has their own enterence rules that are a little different than the other provinces (with the French aspect) but since Quebec pretty much considers itself its own country, that shouldn't surprise anyone here.
What it boils down to is this, if you can move there are be a tax creator and not a tax eater (and that is proven with your mad skilz) OR if you have a big pile of money, yeah you can be a citizen. What they don't want is the lower classes of American citizens (you know, the average Democrat voter) to move to Canada and instantly jump on Canada's massive social welfare programs. From an Atlas Shrugged standpoint, they only want to import the producers, not the looters. They have enough useless leeches up there who do nothing but live to drink and smoke and play bingo and watch cable tv and get their welfare, they don't want anymore....
...unless of course you have a big pile of $$$$, then they don't care about the mad STEM skilz. They want you to start a business and start employeeing Canadians.

an additonal 10-15% roughly goes to your province
3% is the national sales tax rate
so by the time all said and done youve paid almost half your paycheck--more like 40 % in taxes
I wonder how much better/worse the health care system is
course hgere by the time you throw in Social securuty we are at 40%

- Canada has basically no military spending since the United States is there to protect them
- Canada will never have to worry about the health care industry stagnating (at the global level) because the United States free market "for-profit" health care system is there for pharamacutical comapnies to justify their $100 mil R&D expenses for new life saving drugs

Obama is not a moron. He achieved the pinnacle of socialistic accomplishments for this country, the nationalizing of all healthcare. Yes, he rammed it through with the slimmest of margins based on fraudulent claims, but that doesn't matter to him and the statists in this country. He is the superhero of all things government.

He doesn't give a fuck if the ACA works or not. He doesn't give a fuck if the website works or not. He doesn't give a fuck if you like him or not. He got what he wanted, fuck everyone else. And this is all OUR FAULT because we elected him (and then stupidly) re-elected him. We deserve this.
That is why I have said (and continue to say) repeal the 19th and 26th Amendments. Some people simply are not responsible enough to have the right to vote.

Re: Florida State Seminoles
how is it hyperbole - do you believe that Obama truly thinks the system is ready to service people and is fundamentally sound right now? I'm not even talking about the website - that is small potatoes and is really a smokescreen to the more serious problem.Bklyn wrote:Funny enough, I've been (pretty much) with you on most of your complaints about things regarding the ACA since the beginning of your posts about it (at least the points that were verifiable and systemic, not anecdotal). second, if you know that 93 million Americans will be faced with giving up their insurance and having to address new insurance, with most likely the majority of them seeing cost increases due to Obamacare from marginal to significant, and you still believe its the right thing to do to benefit 14 million or whatever the number is of people who were uninsured, then I'm lost on the logic and I can only surmise that you or someone you know is benefiting directly from it.
I actually thought I was pretty conservative on my overall assessment of it given that it looks like my worst fears are being realized about Obamacare - and now I see that the administration knew these were more that just remote possibilities going back as far as 2010 and yet still went ahead with it. He rolled this out knowing he was going to negatively impact a large % of Americans. There is no other way to explain it.
Its not like I'm one of these Fox News lemmings that looks for reasons to rail on Obama. But this is just beyond the pale. You don't implement a program that negatively impacts millions - a high number of millions of Americans for the benefit of a much smaller set - and not even a subset of the those negatively impacted. The time for blanket statements regarding the benefits of Obamacare is long gone.
I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

Proof: 55 percent of women voted for Obama, while only 44 percent voted for Mitt Romney. Yes, we really do believe in rainbows and unicorns:

I am grinding in my office right now...and about to do it all weekend (with the marathon running through NY on Sunday, to boot. So navigating all the travel headaches will be a bitch). I can't reply back to everything on why I see it as hyperbole on my part...because my response is part answer, then part question back to you. Bear with me for a couple of days and I'll be able to type something longer than 3 or 4 sentences before I have to go back to juggling the fate of a few dozen careers on some spreadsheets.

Still not in a position to go through any ACA talk at the moment, but this 6 minute clip does an excellent job detailing how income is distributed in our country, ominous music notwithstanding...

Re: Florida State Seminoles
I had my first colonoscopy when I was 23 because my ass was bleeding. it was a hemorrhoid, not the kind like IB, but an internal one that didn't hurt but just bled. but my mother died of colon cancer at age 57 and her mother also had it so it's a good thing for me to keep tabs on it. I had one in Raleigh in 2005 because the doctor here (the same gouging asshole who just overcharged me) did his procedures in the hospital and insurance wouldn't pay for it because they didn't have to. I remember kicking down about $200 on that one and don't recall having my polyp removal billed separately.
I was supposed to go back every 5 years but it's been 8 years because the prep is not pleasant (think 8 hours of watery shits and you can't be more than 50 ft from a toilet and you'd better not fart unless you're on the toilet). but I also didn't want to have to pay a bunch of money for one. when my GP finally demanded that I make an appt. with Dr. Rimjob, I figured I should probably do it since my wife and my sister were all up my ass about getting one done.
Now I'm pretty sure I'll never have another one after this shit. unless we get some real socialized medicine up in here and I can afford it.
I don't know if the ACA is going to work and I think it's just a shell of what it should have been after all the compromises but anyone who thinks the current healthcare setup is OK is either a complete idiot or doesn't mind giving away money. anyway, I plan on just skipping out on all medical bills from now on. I'll be dead one day and it won't be my problem at all then. I urge everyone else to do the same.
and yeah, eCat, the post-procedure farts are earth-shattering and they don't even stink. I remember laying on the gurney at the place in Raleigh, all foggy from the drugs and the nurse coming by and saying, "I need to start hearing some farts coming from you!" then as I slowly came to, hearing sounds like "Braaaaaaap!" and "Paaaaaarp!" and "Bludddabludddabluddda!" emanating from around the recovery room, which was just a high-priced farting gallery.

What is prompting you to say that? Did your insurance not cover the procedure?
As far as wealth distribution in America, I wonder how it compares to, say, 19th century England or Russia or really any era in the past. The rulers got everything and the serfs lived short miserable lives with no heat or air-conditioning, no running water, no transportation, no cell phones, no nothing. I just get a little wary when anybody tries to tell how things "should" be economically or in any other way, really. What IS is what "should" be, if you don't like it, do something about it. But sitting there whining about how things "should" be is pointless. Do something. Otherwise, you're just another religious zealot telling everybody who they "should" fuck, what they "should" eat, what kind of drugs they "shouldn't" take, blahblahblah. Buncha fucking noise...
