Watching the world series of poker, some dude had a great hand, about a 95% of winning, but he bet soft b/c there was a small possibility of the other guy winning, but of course he won, and the announcers said "he left alot on the table with that last draw, kinda like drafting Demarcus Cousins"...

I call bullshit. No way the guys calling the WSOP would use an obscure NBA draft bust like that. There's a trillion poker references they could have used and a million better know non poker references like Ryan leaf. Post the video or your full of shit. Funny thing is, Cousins isn't doing too poorly. He also just got a max contract, so what constitutes as "poorly" (as far as his play) changes dramatically this year.

I don't keep up with it that closely, but that was my impression as well based on random glances at his stats over the past few years. Of course, I didn't paraphrase exactly what that announcer said. I wrote that he said "he left alot on the table" but what he really said was "misses a little value". Auggie will probably use that to weasel out of his claim, even though the entire point of his post was that the announcer would've never used Cousins as a reference, which he obviously did...

I checked the time stamp on my original post (since I posted as I was watching it, as I indicated in my post) then googled the TV schedule for WSOP and then youtube'd the episode. First of all, anybody who follows sports even slightly knows who Cousins is, so it's not obscure, so you were incorrect. And if you're now saying it was an incorrect reference by the announcer, you're changing your tune, b/c in your original post you referred to Cousins as a draft bust, which was also incorrect and now further compounded by your flip-flopping the likes of which I haven't seen since any number of Mecca Reversals by the very namesake of the ploy.

That is indeed a delightful image, but it also illustrates the conundrum of being called a liar on the internet. You either ignore it and get suspected of indeed lying or else you prove you weren't lying and get outscored by the judges for "too much effort". It's a no-win situation...
