Do they make GI's carry all this stuff home on commercial flights? If that's the case the Army should reimburse these troops for the extra cost.

Yes. Soldiers sign for and are responsible for all that stuff, and pay for it if they lose it. They turn in it when they return to their home base.

Both times I deployed, it was on a civilian airliner chartered by the military, so having 4 bags was not an issue. When I came home on leave, it was on a regular airline ticket, but it was also before the airlines came up with baggage fees, so it was still not an issue.

I read that all the major airlines just dropped their baggage fees for returning soldiers, so it won't be an issue again.

Toe is right; around here LITW has always meant "Lying in the weeds." It has a variant, "LITMFW."

I think he applies it to you because of your former userpic with the canvas high tops and Dr. Seuss leggings rising above the dandelions.

Toe, and suprisingly Prof, are correct.

LITW = lying in the weeds. It was spawned at WX by someone referencing the '08 Vols football team, being primed for greatness, that Fulmer had them "Lying in the Weeds", waiting to pounce on unwary prey.

Those were some tall weeds for Fulmer.
