" George Snuffleupigus wouldn't even have George Will on his panel this morning because he knew that Will's calm, reasoned tone on this, would reframe the whole discussion and would make Paul Krugman cry."

I have to admit I chuckled when I read that...

"My guess being 94% white and with only 4 districts, you couldn't gerrymander if you tried."

You could gerrymander it b/w the cool white people and the uncool ones...

MIT Climate Scientist Dr. Richard Lindzen told Climate Depot on September 27, 2013:

I think that the latest IPCC report has truly sunk to level of hilarious incoherence. They are proclaiming increased confidence in their models as the discrepancies between their models and observations increase.

Their excuse for the absence of warming over the past 17 years is that the heat is hiding in the deep ocean. However, this is simply an admission that the models fail to simulate the exchanges of heat between the surface layers and the deeper oceans. However, it is this heat transport that plays a major role in natural internal variability of climate, and the IPCC assertions that observed warming can be attributed to man depend crucially on their assertion that these models accurately simulate natural internal variability. Thus, they now, somewhat obscurely, admit that their crucial assumption was totally unjustified.

Finally, in attributing warming to man, they fail to point out that the warming has been small, and totally consistent with there being nothing to be alarmed about. It is quite amazing to see the contortions the IPCC has to go through in order to keep the international climate agenda going.

Good stuff.

There are three big name "deniers" on the oil and gas payroll and Lindzen has been one of the most well-paid and for the longest period of time. Back in '91 he was charging Big Oil and Big Coal $2500 a day for his "consulting."

And every time the IPCC comes out with some report the rwnj's run to this geezer for his "expertise."

Just got my letter from Blue Cross. I guess I'm not one of those multitudes who are going to pay less for better coverage. I'm a single payer, hardly ever go to the doctor (twice in the last 4 years, back issues, just go into the doc in the box for a script of steroids and percoset), was paying $170/month, they're saying that plan is no longer available, now the comparable plan they are offering is $410/month. Thanks, Obamacare!

My oldest son's is going up 25% (140/mo to 175).

Mine is going down 15%, which is pretty typical here for older insureds. The best part is I'm past due for a colonoscopy, and my new plan will pay for it at 100% (whereas my current plan will not). Preventive screenings that are affordable and part of every plan are one of the best aspects of obamacare. A win-win for all.

I just went to the Blue Cross website and punched in my info (age, etc) and they showed 5 or 6 plans that look pretty comparable to what I have now for less money. Not sure why they tagged me for the $410 plan, but if I can keep it under $200/month, I'll be happy...

I'd encourage BOJ to go to www.bcbst.com and quote his family medical plan on his own (takes 5 minutes tops). I think his current agent/drunk uncle is throwing him a curve.

Hell, it's sooooo cheap we can subsidize the premiums for those poor congressmen/women and staffs.

Well so far so good!!!
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

I have to admit I chuckled when I read that...
I was really looking forward to what George Will was going to say. Was he allowed on, no, so I guess we'll never know. But I am guessing the only reason why Will wasn't on the panel was because Krugman was and he probably told the producers he wouldn't be doing anymore of these with George Will punching him in the economic face.

Oh you are right Rat. I don't know. None of us know. But now that we are officially shut down, I would like to have heard from George Will.

What part of Ohio are you from?

Back in '05 the Church/Cult of Global Warming predicted higher frequency of Cat 4 and 5 hurricanes, that what we experienced in '05 would be more the norm. When will this start? ....and again, when do I sell my condo on South Beach?

“Americans have been fighting for health-care reform for almost a century. We have now enacted into law the affordable health-care system our country needs to be competitive in the 21st century global economy. Families and small businesses in Montana and across the nation will finally have the health care stability and security they deserve.

“This law brings the American people lower health-care costs, protection from insurance-company abuses, increased choice and marketplace competition. This law means a brighter future, not just for the health of our nation, but for the fiscal future of our country.” — Sen. Max Baucus, hailing the passage of ObamaCare in a press release where he describes himself as having “drafted a significant portion of the legislation and played a key role in passing it through the Senate,” March 23, 2010

“I just tell you, I just see a huge train wreck coming down.” — Sen. Baucus to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius during a Senate hearing on ObamaCare’s implementation, April 17, 2013

Baucus made the train wreck comment because Rs had stripped funding (1.5 bil) that would provide the necessary information campaign for the marketplace rollout.

Sebelius, to her credit, was able to rob from other departments that necessary amount.
