Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Ghost,
The good news is I'm not to the point where I think our D is that bad. Yet. What happened yesterday was our offense's inability to stay on the field long enough to give our D a rest. And news flash: Oregon's offense is pretty darn good. They are the #2 team in the country for a reason.
The bad news: with our team the way it is, the defense being good or bad is irrelevant. Until our QB starts throwing the ball like he has a pair between his legs and our receivers start to get more experience, games like yesterday will happen. Don't sweat our upcoming game just yet; Florida has more than a chance to pull out a W. Our game could very well be a duel of the worthless QB's in college FB.
I'm looking at the rest of our schedule. All of our games, with the possible exceptions of KY and South 'bama, are toss ups to put it kindly.
Our school needs the money bad. I hope we can pull out six wins to get to a bowl. I'm not buying any tickets to a bowl game just yet...

don't think it was the special teams that were the problem....Orangefreak wrote:Our special teams are going to cost us this game.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Let's just say the special teams didn't exactly help. They were just one of the problems. Several problems.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
And since I made the mistake of bringing the Dooley up...
Dooley had absolutely nothing when he came here. His result was a bit predictable. Jones has more to work with compared to what Dooley had. If Jones doesn't at least sniff a bowl invite, he should be in trouble, IMO.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
A&M declared Manziel ineligible and the NCAA cleared him to play after a suspension. There is no new information in that photo, not even any evidence that he signed hundreds of items for this guy. Where's the photo of him sitting down and signing a thousand items?Orangefreak wrote:Hello.

Eh... shouldn't his highness be declared ineligible to play?! I guess that is the schools decision but T&M doesn't seem to be very proactive about this. Could come back to haunt them.

I go all the way back to cnnazi...15 or 16 years ago...that has GOT to be the single dumbest thing I've read in this continuum EVER.Orangefreak wrote:
I wasn't happy when Dooley was canned. If Wilcox hadn't left for Washington and we had the same defense for the 2012 season we did in 2011, we would have done no worse than 8 wins and probably gone 10-2. Dooley coached up what he had which was nothing. As a reward, he got canned for circumstances well beyond his control (he did pick Sal though...)[/i]

Sunseri is at Florida State now. Seems to be doing okay.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Heh - debatable I guess. Pruitt is the DC and is implementing a much more complex scheme and it has shown at times with breakdowns against Pitt and Nevada, particularly in the run game. Sunseri coaches the DEs, and that has been a weak spot so far, but when you lose three DEs to the NFL, you're probably going to struggle at first.AlabamAlum wrote:Sunseri is at Florida State now. The defense has been good enough against an average (Pitt) and a below average (Nevada without their starting QB and RB) offense. BC's offense was very bad against USC, so if they get >5.5 ypp and 17 points against us, I'll be a bit concerned about Clemson. Maryland could be a good test as well.
