Golden State was a good team? When? I think the last time they made the playoffs was when Chris Mullen played for them and Barkley torched them for like 50 points in Oakland, a game I attended. Danny Green doesn't really fit the mold of what I'm talking about, I doubt many people expected him to be an NBA caliber player at all, but that just speaks even more to Roy's ability to craft marginal NBA talents into solid starters on teams already loaded with talent. I'll take 4 year guys like Danny Green every time. I bet Cal wishes he had had a couple of guys like that over the past few years, but he's lucky if he's got a "veteran" sophomore or two...

I will say it will be interesting to see the UK/UNC match-up if Wiggins comes to UNC. A truly veteran team with a stud freshmen vs. a team full of stud freshmen. I like talent as much as any fan, but I really like veteran talent. Of course, if Wiggins goes to UK, we won't stand a chance...

And come on. Gilcrest? I won't say he's a bust by any means, but he hardly lit it up for the Bobcats this year, certainly not to the level you'd expect the #2 pick in the draft to do. How is Terrence Jones faring? How are any of UK's studs outside of Wall, Cousins and Davis faring? Those 3 guys are legitimate talents, but let's face it, Cal had nothing to do with their development or current status in the league. They'd all 3 be doing the same now if they had gone to Western Kentucky instead of Kentucky. I guess Knight is doing OK, but Bledsoe is hardly more than a bench warmer. Those are the type of guys I would say are more of an indication of how "well" Cal prepares guys who aren't sure-fire NBA studs. But I admit, every high school star thinks he's going to be the next John Wall or Anthony Davis and not the next Terrence Jones, and that's what Cal is banking on. So far, it has paid handsome dividends...

man, none of these is thinking their college choice will improve their NBA chances. at least none of the elite players. they're thinking: "Where my shit at?"

college is but a brief foray peppered by adulation of white coeds and red-faced old men bowing at your feet before moving onto the really good shit.

Kid-Gilchrist can be thrown on the failed bobcats draft heap with Shun May and Adam Morrison...

Noel's "date" to the Derby.

You can think its a publicity stunt but Noel has been doing this stuff all year. He is a frequent (meaning more than twice) to the childrens hospital in Lexington.

So far he's been a great representative of Kentucky Basketball. I hope he has all the success he deserves.

He looks sharp, I'll give him that. I think he'll have a very good NBA career if his leg holds out...

I doubt Rose would risk injury at this point and I doubt he'd be that effective if he did return. If I was the Bulls, I wouldn't want him to come back now. An extra 4 months rest could mean the difference b/w an allstar career and retirement. Maybe not, but why take the chance at this point? If his knee snaps in training camp next year, at least they won't have to feel guilty about rushing him back and being blamed for it...

Rose has been running full practices with the Bulls for 2 months. His injury is identical to Iman Shumpert for the Knicks. They happened within hours of each other. Shump has been playin for NY since late February, if I'm not mistaken. Rose better sit out, because if he comes back now it'll look like he's gravy training on a team he never thought would get this far.

If I had several hundred million bucks riding on the performance of my knee, I think I'd be as sure as possible before I put it to the test. Not saying Shumpurt isn't making some coin as well, but he's not on the same planet as Rose...

the question is where the "sure as possible" line is, versus where that line should be. I think Rose has easily crossed the line. He said he isn't playing until he is "comfortable." Not that he has pain. Not that he got a second opinion outside the team doctors. Not that Andrew Bynum and Greg Oden play poker and go bowling with him. He basically is in a mental state, not a physical one.

that's guaranteed $$$ over the next 5 years, he just made 16.4 million for not playing a single game

he'd really be putting it on line by playing this post season
