Speaking of absurdities that pose as gun control laws, the last gun legislation banned "assault rifles." These were defined as rifles with, among other things, pistol grips and bayonet notches.

As if the absence of pistol grips and bayonet notches would have prevented another Sandy Hook or Aurora or Columbine or whatever.

You would have to involve mental health providers and they would have to violate current HIPPA laws that protect the confidentiality of patient health care information. So if you are being "treated" for some kind of health condition, the psychiatrist would be mandated (by law) to inform some kind of buearocratic agency

I think they already have to do that in cases of homicide, suicide and child abuse.
