Senseless, tragic death of a two-year old...no inanimate object/race to blame....collective ho-hum from national media.

A 2-year-old boy was mauled to death by his family’s pit bull Wednesday afternoon in south Fulton County, police and animal control officials said.

The child, whose name was not released, was inside his Sierra Trail townhome with his mother at the time of the attack, according to Detective Melissa Parker with Fulton County police. The boy’s mother told police the attack happened shortly after 1 p.m. when she went to the restroom.

“She advised it happened fast,” Parker said. “It was an obvious death once the mother came out of the restroom.”

It was not known if anyone else was in the home at the time.

The dog had been a family pet for eight years, Parker said.

It's always the same tale. Dog wasn't vicious, never attacked before...until it did.

Too many of these stories.

A tax-payer funded state-owned highway has nothing to do with a private citizen or a business's right to prohibit someone from bringing a firearm onto their soil or pavement. How you make that leap is exactly why arguing with you is pointless.
It has long been held that the car was private property regardless of where it is sitting, once you step out of the car you are then on the other property.
LOL If that were true, we wouldn't be going through this nonsense and the matter would have already been settled in your gun-trumps-all favor.
Property rights go to wherever you own property, but by the same token the car owner owns the car and what's inside it. That's why they can't search your car without permission or probable cause.
Again, this isn't an issue of illegal search and seizure. :::sigh:::
The guns in parking lots bill only makes sure that same thing holds true with regards to guns just like it does for anything else. The inside of the car is the private property of the car owner, the land is the private property of the land owner. Both peoples private property rights are upheld, the car owner can't get his gun out of the car without permission from the land owner and the land owner can't tell the car owner what can or can't be in his car.
None of that gibberish is true. The bill eliminates legal penalties for guns in cars of HCP holders, but it clearly states an employer can enforce the no-guns ban with termination. In fact some are calling it the "Brought a Gun Lost a Job" bill. heh
So basically what tick wants is something essentially makes a CC permit worthless? If you can't have a firearm in your car because your employer can fire you or you can be sued by biz you are a patron of, it means you really can't have a CC weapon.

George W Bush issued 291 executive orders. About 36 per year he was in office.

Barack Obama has issued 153 executive orders so far. About 36 per year in office.

I wouldn't want to face re-election either knowing what's coming...Baucus suddenly announced this week he won't run again.

A senior Democratic senator who helped write President Barack Obama's health care law stunned administration officials Wednesday, saying openly he thinks it's headed for a "train wreck."

"I just see a huge train wreck coming down," Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., told Obama's health care chief during a routine budget hearing that suddenly turned tense.

Max Baucus will be the new ambassador to wherever he wants. Same for any other Dem's from reddish states who are endangered by their vote for Obamacare. How about Mary Landrieu (she of the infamous Louisiana Purchase) and Ben Nelson (he of the Cornhusker Kickback). They sent IL Gov. Blagojevich to prison for outright bribery on a much lower scale than that.

RIP George Jones. I'm a big fan. "He Stopped Loving Her Today" may be the single best country song of all time.

He was also country's counterpart to rock's Keith Richard. Both consumed enough intoxicants they should have died in their 20's, but instead lived into their golden years.

Agreed. He Stopped Loving Her Today defines classic country along with Hello Darlin by Mr. Conway Twitty.
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

Shooter would be a Dollar General assistant manager if it weren't for his Daddy.

Come to think of it, he is probably now a Dollar General assistant manager anyway.

Twitty's "Hello Darlin'" is certainly in the top five.

Wasn't there some story about Tammy Wynette taking his car keys so he couldn't drive to buy liquor, so he rode the lawnmower instead...

That story is true, although I don't think it was Tammy. I believe it was one of his other wives.

Man, I'm going to miss him. I've been listening to his songs all morning. I think I'll get drunk tonight in his honor.
