I'll believe it's an issue if he loses a primary.

Re: Florida State Seminoles
My 10 year old son went to a friends house (divorced parents) who took them (with our permission) to the grandparents in the country. As it turns out, a few of the kids (cousins of my son's friend and the friend) announced they were going hunting for squirrels and they were going to take my son. The oldest was 13 and the youngest 10.
Thank goodness my son told them he couldn't go (and now he will never go to that child's house again).

Would you have the same attitude if your son had been asked to go squirrel hunting by his own cousins rather than a friends cousin that I assume you dont know? In other words is your issue that he was asked to go hunting or that he was asked to go hunting by people you dont know?
U*NC is the cleanest most honest athletic program on the planet. I am jealous of their deserved success, and I'm a mewling cunt.

Re: Florida State Seminoles
So how long were you and the little mrs. out clubbing before you realized your 10 year old son was missing? Long enough for a strange adult to drive him and a few other minors ALL the way out to the country spend a day and then drive ALL the way back? I really question your lax parenting Owlman...Owlman wrote:My 10 year old son went to a friends house (divorced parents) who took them (with our permission) to the grandparents in the country. So what if he killed a few squirrels. They're just rodents.

I'm not sure what you are asking. We were told by the mother that they were going out see her mother in the country and could my son go with them.sardis wrote:So how long were you and the little mrs. out clubbing before you realized your 10 year old son was missing? My problem is that I would never take presume to take another child to an "R" rated movie and I don't think any body should presume to have another child to be around other children (and in this case unsupervised) and guns. It's like some parents who believe that they should serve alcohol to there teens (or other teens at their house). See Stuebenville(sp?)

If protecting my son makes me a snob, then hell yeah. Down with the simple folk. Send them back to Rock Ridge.

I would have made the same decision
I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

yeah, me too. I don't understand those who don't see where Owl was going and the issues he saw with it. I bet if the object wasn't centered around guns their responses would have been different.
WRT Steubenville...it is a fucked up situation and those boys deserved the punishment. What I don't think we talk about enough, however, is the situation where children are getting black-out drunk. I guess it slides to close to blaming the victim in this case...but it needs to be discussed with kids.

I was just trying to get a rise out of you, owlman. Helicopter parents will get their panties in a wad at the slightest insuance of bad parenting.Owlman wrote:I'm not sure what you are asking. Re: Florida State Seminoles
My cousins' took me hunting when I was young and my parents had no problem with it. Had some friend of a friend done the same thing my parents would have freaked, and I feel the same way. I was just trying to determine if he had an issue with the hunting in general or if his issue was that someone he didn't know took his son hunting. Big difference imo.Bklyn wrote:yeah, me too. If no one comes from the future to stop you from doing it, then how bad of a decision can it really be?
