WORST DEFENSIVE PLAY EVER!

During a press conference later, O'Mara was asked if he had any advice for Zimmerman, and he answered, "Pay me."

Yeah, they only were there for 40 minutes of game time. Young and dumb...from players to coaches.

Also...
1. I think Kobe has been seeing Derek Fisher's "trainer" (ahem)
2. at about the 0:22 mark, it looks like Dwight is mocking Kobe's "Mamba" jaw...and Antawn Jamison is in on the joke
3. If this team had a coach, they'd be dangerous...

btw Brook & JD, what do you all think about Fisher asking out of his deal with Dallas to look after his family then signing with OKC?

I'm sorry, I know you all have love for him, but dude is SHEISTY. That's the 2nd time he's pulled this stunt. I wish Douger was around to flame the shyt out Fish.

You know what, I forgot about his Dallas exit under those terms.

I do love Fish, but you're right on this one. That was weak sauce.

I'm just glad he's not a Laker. Happy for him if he gets another ring, but yes, that was a punk move.

Fish would have been a help when Blake was out.

Belated R.I.P. Jerry Buss.

Welcome back to the playoff picture LA Lakers. Please continue to do well.

It's not preposterous to imagine a first round Clippers/Lakers matchup.

I'm now worried that we're playing well enough to make the Playoffs, but still bad enough to be no threat to the very good teams. All this may lead to a "saving face" short Playoff visit with D'Antoni keeping his job. It's the poison of lowered expectations.

Gasol's return could be a Good Thing - have him out there every minute Dwight isn't, for one - but I'm worried that they'll bungle his return and mess up the good thing they've had going. That and Kobe will drop off.

Someone high up in the team offices gives a shit.

A home playoff game = $7,000,000.00 in unshared revenue for the Lakers and roughly $3,000,000.00 in profit. That's per game. For perspective, after revenue sharing, all regular season and post season games played, etc., most teams won't clear $3,000,000.00 total. This is why - by rule - the Lakers and Knicks can never receive money in revenue sharing.

A quick first round exit = $14,000,000.00 in revenue and $6,000,000.00 in profit.

A run to the Finals, with each series going 7 games (3 home games per series) = $84,000,000.00 in revenue and $36,000,000.00 in profit.

That's not counting the TV money, which is shared revenue.

The Lakers' MO has always been to spend big and recoup in the post season.

I would think semi-serious would be the uppermost level of interest imaginable in terms of league bowlerhood, but that's just me. Anything beyond that would be grading into the neurotic at minimum and possibly the psychopathological...

Actually, D'Antoni sucks. Lakers are a disappointment. If you are going to move on past the greatest coach in NBA history, at least keep his people around who can maintain his excellence. Letting Ronnie Lester, Brian Shaw, Derek Fisher and the rest of his coaching staff all go was a big risk that cost them dearly. At the very least, they should've adopted the Dallas model when they hired Switzer.

This is a little overblown. It's just a reel of missed calls, where they did not show the ones that occur on the other side. Shit, the refs surely weren't helping LA when they didn't whistle Donta Jones for the Jalen Rose'ing of Kobe at the end of that game.
