Louis lived into his 80's and kept his wits about him. That probably shows how great a boxer he was more than anything else

married an accomplished lawyer who negotiated a tax settlement with the IRS that got him out of trouble, Frank Sinatra came to his aid financially after that because Louis waived a $10K fee to do an appearance that helped launch Sinatra's career.

Max Schnelling, the Nazi who defeated Louis the first time, ended up getting a lucrative contract with Coca Cola later in life and became a millionaire, and Joe Louis, the guy buying tickets for GI's out of his own money so they could go to exhibition fights lived with owing the IRS $100K and it ballooning to over $1.5m with interest. At one point they were taking 90% of his earnings.

yea, when they talked about Louis fighting Rocky - and yes, Joe was past his prime and had to take the fight for money, I couldn't help but smile thinking of that scene.

plus an added bonus that they threw Frank Sinatra in it, now that I know Frank helped out Joe when he got older.

Thanks.

That is one of my favorite movies. Eddie outdid himself on that one. I loved how Joe Louis' age never stayed the same in any reference. Classic.

Don't you mean Bon Jovi tribute band because Bon Jovi died last year right????
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

my family is addicted to this show called Psych

and when I say addicted, I mean my daughter gets up at 5am every morning to watch it before school, my wife watches it while she makes dinner and on the treadmill and my son watches it on the DVR at night.

I never even heard of this show but there must be an assload of episodes because they have been doing this for about a month now.

I've been meaning to start watching it but I just never have time.

I get home everyday from work and my DVR has 2 episodes of the Andy Griffith show, the Daily Show, PTI, and the evening news from the night before. That usually takes up my viewing time. I seldom watch TV on Saturdays but I make up for it on Sundays with 60 minutes, Fox Animation, the Walking Dead or whatever HBO series is on.

oh..and Archer. I'll sit in on Duck Dynasty if the kids are watching it too.

Love Psych. I watch about 20 - 30 mins a few nights a week before I go to bed. It has about 7 or 8 seasons. It's the longest running show on USA.

It's silly, but I've found myself laughing out loud at times. The new season starts this month, I think. I just watch it on Netflix.

my wife tells me he *(the star of Psych) always dogs the CBS show "The Mentalist" which I have heard of but I haven't seen that either.
