Burbank, John Wayne and Ontario are all big enough to be medium hubs and were built to be such - but the airline industry has collapsed.

Aloha, America West, ATA, Braniff, Continental, Eastern, MGM Grand, Midway, Midwest, National,Northeast, Northwest, Ozark, Pan Am, People Express, Southern, TWA, US Air, Western - those are just a few of the significant airlines that have gone out of business in my lifetime.

It just says that just because someone owns the pavement they can't tell you what you can or can't have in the car.

Never heard it put that way, even by the nuttiest of the nuts. That property rights end at your door frame...your "paved" property holds no sway. Wow.

So are you saying that the police have the right to search your car without your permission without cause just because you are on a state owned highway? It has long been held that the car was private property regardless of where it is sitting, once you step out of the car you are then on the other property.

Property rights go to wherever you own property, but by the same token the car owner owns the car and what's inside it. That's why they can't search your car without permission or probable cause.

The guns in parking lots bill only makes sure that same thing holds true with regards to guns just like it does for anything else. The inside of the car is the private property of the car owner, the land is the private property of the land owner. Both peoples private property rights are upheld, the car owner can't get his gun out of the car without permission from the land owner and the land owner can't tell the car owner what can or can't be in his car.

Juan Williams is not a liberal. He's plays a liberal foil on Fox, but all of his books, Op-Eds and public commentaries are created from a conservative blueprint. His son worked for Strom Thurmond and Norm Coleman, and ran for office as a Republican.

A tax-payer funded state-owned highway has nothing to do with a private citizen or a business's right to prohibit someone from bringing a firearm onto their soil or pavement. How you make that leap is exactly why arguing with you is pointless.

None of that gibberish is true. The bill eliminates legal penalties for guns in cars of HCP holders, but it clearly states an employer can enforce the no-guns ban with termination. In fact some are calling it the "Brought a Gun Lost a Job" bill. heh
