"you have the facts right, the conclusion which led to those facts is entirely wrong."

Sadly, that is precisely the way IB operates. He starts with a conclusion and then lets that lead him to whatever "facts" suit his vile purpose...

"If you are a black woman in this country and you are married, you are part of a very tiny minority of black women. Just 30% of black women in this country over the age of 18 are currently married."

30% is a tiny minority???

Mr Professor,

My "sin" was the exact same "sin" you had, we both tried to over-simplify an issue. We both looked at the facts (women getting married later in life) and interpreted them in entirely different ways. But that was the point I was trying to make, this "sin" is an easy one to make depending upon how you see the world.

We both know women. But apparently, we don't agree on how they look at marriage (certainly not their desire for it.) If it makes you feel proud that you think you know everything, good for you. If (however) you are in a position of authority where you expect younger people to think the way YOU DO on this one particular issue (or else you will hurt their grades/transcipts) then that is a damn shame.

Not all women are the same. I am claiming (for the most part) that all women want to be married. There will be exceptions of that I am sure. But the institution of marriage nowadays most certainly rewards women much more than it does men, mostly because of the legal constructs we have defined around this government sanctioned union.

" Fear and shame worked to civilize men into wanting to get married AND RIGHT QUICK."

It's pretty clear to anyone who has wasted even a little time reading your posts that fear and shame are the two greatest motivations (perhaps the only two motivations) in your existence. Your entire life has been shaped by those twin forces. Pretty sad...

Perhaps you are laboring over a couple of misconceptions that I need to correct.

When I said that the current generation of young women are postponing or forgoing marriage, I am simply stating that as a fact and arguing that it has little to do with government rewards. I don't think that is healthy for them or for society. I wish it were otherwise.

By your mention of "hurting grades/transcripts" are you under the impression that I am a college professor? Do you even know what I REALLY do for a living?

We don't shame anymore hedge. We don't. And (as a result) our nation is going to shit.

Shame used to work. SHAME ON YOU. That stung like a motherfucker because it meant that not only did you know right from wrong, but that you went out of your way to ignore right from wrong for just a moment for some small, trivial, thrill. And that thrill (no matter how small or great) could have life damning repercussions.

SHAME.

We don't do that. And now (because we don't do that) we are sitting here arguing over what we should do as a society to prevent future incidents where 20 year old boys might murder twenty, helpless, defensieless, first graders.

We are in agreement. But someone has to pay for all the debt young girls have (now) that they didn't have (then.) $1,000,000,000,000 in student loans and much more of that belong to women nowadays than men. Someone has to pay for that. A young hubby will not be able to do so.

So this whole generation of younger women is delaying or forgoing marriage because of female student loan deadbeats and black welfare queens?

In other news, this story is one of the reasons we have a second amendment to the Constitution:

I didn't read his intro as suggesting that the 2nd was in immediate danger of being struck.

No "Professor."

If you weren't being such a malignant douchebag you would understand that student loan debt absolutely crushes young couples just starting out after (hopefully) graduating college. It crushes them so much that all to often, they don't marry. He doesn't want to inherit all her debt (and vice-versa.) It has nothing to do with being deadbeats. It has EVERYTHING to do with not wanting to marry someone with massive amounts of negative wealth. 40 years ago, this was a non-issue as college was dramatically cheaper to the point where it was extremely unusual that any young kids just starting out had any meaningful debt. They may have had nothing, but at least they weren't negative.

As far as black women go, I didn't say there were all on welfare. I'm only saying that they want to get married as much as any other women but are getting even less marriage offers than any other women by any racial demographic. There are a myriad of articles on the internet discussing this problem for black women. You can make up your own mind as to why that is, but it is. In the inner city, marriage was completely destroyed. It simply ceased to exist from any cultural standpoint. Read that frightening book American Dream as it follows the lives of three inner city black women (from three different generations) where none of them (not one) had even been to a wedding!

IB,

So, because Prof disagrees with you, or doesn't recognize your view as correct and obvious, he is a 'malignant douchebag'? Is such language Christ like?

Yes.

I disagree with most of what IB says. But I like reading apposing view points. I usually only engage, however, those who I respect.

Why does Nancy Grace always make me think of a fat chick who was once hot in high school & then got fat because her husband left her for a hot babe & a bitter Miss Piggy?
