Indeed. It is the same reason.
Sure, I could have stayed in the past. I could have even been king. But in my own way, I am king.

Why does IB condone killing little kids in the name of Jesus?

Re: Puterbac News Network and Political Discussion Thread
So the only way to ever be able to bear a horrible event is to have unquestioning faith in the god that would allow such an event to happen in the first place? That's a neat trick, at least from the purveyor's of said religions point of view. Seems like cold comfort to me, but I suppose I wouldn't fault anyone in that situation of drawing comfort from whatever source possible. I just think there are better sources than religion, and certainly better sources than any religion IB subscribes to...

The only way to ever be able to bear this level of a horrible event is for God to step in and help the family members of the victims become whole. Nothing that you or I (or any of us) could do or say will make the father or mother of one of these Conneticut children who will not be going home again wake from this nightmare that will haunt them for the rest of their remaining time on this planet. Only God can help them. If you are leaning of your child and you watch them die (you watch them leave you) more often than not, the first three words that will be uttered from your mouth is as your little baby breathes their last breath is "God help me!"
I really feel sorry for you hedge. I do. If you had any Faith in Christ at all (anything) then maybe you would understand what I'm saying. Stupid comments like the one you just made, reaffirm what I already know. That you do NOT. So every day for you is one less day you'll have, one day closer to your ultimate END. And that must scare the shit out of you because to people like you (people with no faith) when you are dead and gone, that is the end of the entire fucking universe.
Feminism: Eve eats ALL the apples, gives God the middle finder when He confronts her, and has the serpent serve Adam with an injunction ordering him to both stay away from her AND to provide her food and shelter because he dragged her out of the Garden.

Holy Innocents. December 28/29.
The horrific mass murder of children has a tragically ancient pedigree.

Horrific mass murder in general is one of the calling cards of the god of the bible.Professor Tiger wrote:Holy Innocents. December 28/29.

Do you fear the year 1822? Or 752? Or pick any day from 10,000 years ago or 10 million or ten billion years ago. Does thinking about any of that terrify you? You weren't here then and you won't be here after you die. Yet for some reason, you have no fear of the eternity before you got here, even though you weren't in it, but at the same time, you live (or rather, waste) your life in mortal terror of the eternity that will come after your meaningless death, and for the exact same reason. i.e., you won't be in it. What's the difference? None...
So no, IB, I'm not scared of dying. Not saying I'm looking forward to it, but when this life is over, it's over, and that thought doesn't scare me. But evidently it terrifies you, which is why you spend so much time and energy professing belief in these fantasies that will magically allow you to have eternal life, and trying to convince everyone, esp. yourself, that you really believe it. And maybe you do. But your claim that my disbelief in your god somehow means I am scared of death reminds me of the old chestnut that seems especially true in your case: We criticize in others what we most despise about ourselves....
