Bray can go @#$% himself. I saw what he was about last night. He's got issues. If he doesn't leave, kick his ass off the team.

I don't know what Hunter's situation is personally. If he needs to go for family reason, then fine (if that is a reason). Barring that, he would be a fool to leave after this season. He dropped to many passes that were on the numbers this season. He doesn't have a banner season to display to an NFL team. Only highlight films of potential.

If we lose CP, that will be a shame. He is the only one I will be sad to see leave out of those three.

Good analysis of Dooley's coaching career at UT. Pretty spot on.

That was a good article, DDAL. Thanks.

I'm sitting here watching/listening to a recording of the AD Press Conference. At one point he says we only have $1.9 Mill in reserve which relative to everyone is really bad as they have $50 Mill+. Shortly after that he is asked if a search firm will be hired to find a new coach. The AD said no. Translation: we can't afford a search firm.

We are fucked.

If your AD only has $1,9mil in reserve he either should be fired immediately or given a raise for AA levels of sandbagging to get your alumni to pony up the cash,

The acaedemic side took all of it. They say they are working to fix that and to fix the hamstringing that has went on with the english department running the athletic department now.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Why do they need a search? Phil is the one sumbich in the world who would forgive Tennessee for their transgressions and work for the peanuts / krispy kreems the AD says he can afford.

LMAO to Auggie about the sandbaggery...

We have two billionaire alumni yet the 2nd smallest athletic budget in the ACC.

sorry to see Dooley go but that performance against Vandy was akin to Zook's exit call after MissState. wonder if the UF/Tenny game will be 12:20 or PPV next year.

The academic side took all of it? Really? Is that what Doug Matthews said again?

The UTAD turns 10mil over to the school annully and that is less than 10% of revenues.

The UTAD release Monday stated that "multiple components related to the historical budget model for athletics at UT that contributing factors to the current financial situation and the lack of a reserve."

Among those components are an annual minimum gift of $6 million to the university system, $200 million in outstanding debt related to facilities, significant contract buyouts to former athletic personnel such as Philip Fulmer, Bruce Pearl, and Mike Hamilton, among others; fixed costs such as scholarships and utilities.

But equally as glaring are the tax rates that UT claims are a "significant burden." The athletic department reports that a tax rate of 14.25 percent on ticket sales, including a 9.25 percent state sales tax, a 4.5 percent city tax, and a 0.5 county tax amounted to a $4.6 million bill. The UT release said this "heavy reate of taxation" is uncommon and several peer institutions pay nothing in this category.

I mean, shit, just as the economy was going in the dumper Radar Hamilton plowed through with Phase 1 of the stadium reconstruction (just had to have that Tennessee Terrace baby) and the renovations to TBA and the new Pratt Pavillion and new administrative offices. Hamilton loved being Bob the Builder but you would have to say the timing was suspect.

LOL But yeah - the english department got all of it and that's being fixed. They no enuff on the acaedemic side as tis.

The ball is squarely in Chuckey's court now. He's contacted some old cronies (Raheem Morris and the Charger's special teams coach among others) and now it's a matter of will the numbers mesh once the potential staff is ironed out. All this stuff about the razorbacks guaranteeing that their new coach will be the highest paid in the SEC is funny - they are competing with us for JG and WE would definitely make him the highest paid in the conference. Pfft.

If Gruden happens, look for Chaney, Pittman, and Graham to be retained and Tee Martin to join the staff. With Morris and Bisaccia on the defensive side.

Gruden goes NFL, Butch Jones is your man. The history of ex Cincinnati head coaches using them as a stepping stone is growing bigger every year. Best part is, they seem to win.

Efing Radar thought Brian Kelly couldn't recruit in the SEC.

Gruden was approached once in the past to coach at Tenn. Perhaps he was even approached twice. Not sure. It has also been documented several other schools, particularly those in the SEC, have asked him to coach. However, he has turned down every offer since he went ESPN. He isn't coming here to coach. If he does go back to coaching, it will be in the NFL. Forget about him. File him under "I'll believe it when I see it".

Ty Willingham was the bees knees after his second year at ND as well. Granted he never had them undefeated this late in the season but it's required a couple of miracles.
