Newby winning guarantees these things: 1) that the gerrymandered redistricting will stand for a decade; 2) Law enforcement will have more leeway and will be allowed to disregard your constitutional rights; 3) the District Attorney/State will have even more cards stacked in their favor legally/procedurally in the court room; 4) That big business has assured themselves of continued favor and protection by the North Carolina Supreme Court; and 5) That you have some uptight, self-proclaimed Evangelical Conservative sitting on the bench and doing his best to fuck things up with his warped point of view.

local Republicans are not always the same as DC 'Pubs. On the local level, I'm far more conservative than liberal when it comes to gov't spending.

Well, I'm sure Nate Silver deserves a bigger portion of the credit...

from what I've read 14 million fewer people voted this election that voted in 2008.

I would suspect a majority percentage of those people would be defined as moderates or independents.

With Obama getting 10 million fewer votes, I have to wonder just how effective the voter fraud measures were in stopping the black folks from voting?

But the turnout in Ohio was 68%. I suspect in most of the battleground states, turnout was up while turnout was down in the safe states (for either party)

"you're riding Spacer's coattails"

Spacer called Obama with 303 electoral votes. That's going to be short, due to Obama's victory in Florida. Now I ask you, who called Obama to win some of the supposedly Romney-leaning states? Ewing Oil. And who specifically called for an Obama win in Florida? Ewing Oil. And who took the chances? Again, Ewing Oil. For you gentlemen, it was a sure thing. My only question is, how fast can you get that money? I need it soon, or I don't need it at all...

The press/media focusing heavily on voter suppression and scare tactics lit a fire under minorities in swing states. They all went prepared to stand on line and challenge anyone who challenged them because they were angry someone (real or perceived) was trying to keep them from voting. My money is on the fact that many of those who came out (and stayed on line) would not have under regular circumstances.

I feel the same way. Where is that video of the guy saying with voter fraud they guarantee Pennsylvania for Mitt Romney?

These people didn't give a damn about the election but some rich white guys are trying to take away their vote? Fuck yea, throw the wheelchair in the Buick, I ain't got nothing else to do this Tuesday

Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.
