No doubt that guy is the epitome of Reardon/Wyatt industrialism. I'm sure that his ten employee technology company is sitting on a metaphorical Galt motor as we speak.
Sure, I could have stayed in the past. I could have even been king. But in my own way, I am king.

So the responsible thing to do is shut down your business and fire all your employees because the guy don't like won an election and you think you won't make as much money as you're entitled to?

Sounds like the business owner is immature and has very strong feelings of entitlement. And that he owes nothing to anybody. A typical conservative, as I said.

He's entitled to make as much money as he damn well pleases. The point he is making is that with Obama re-elected he wont make anything. The President and his Congress will just take it all away from him so.... what the fuck difference does it make to stay in business? Just shut down, fuck it.

That is Atlas Shrugging. Read the book (or watch the movies if you are too lazy to read it.)

What does he owe?

He owes his employees paychecks for the 8 hours of work they do for him each day. He owes them some vacation, holidays, and the occational raise if they do good work. That is all he owes. President Obama says that he owes government EVERYTHING and if our President had things entirely his way this man would just turn over every cent he made to government.

Yeah.....OR....maybe he has decided the risk isn't worth the reward anymore based on what oprama and the parasites (good band name btw) want to take from him? After all his costs to have employees are going to skyrocket if opramacare stays in place and his taxes are going up as well.

Hell that is the beauty of govt...there is no risk for govt. some program isn't working just blame it not spending enough money and take from those who earned it at the point of a gun.

Entitlement? Lmao. Surely you jest.

He has as deep a sense of entitlement as the most obscene welfare queen.

In his own mind, he owes the success of his business to himself alone, and only he deserves to become richly rewarded through his efforts. His employees can go to hell.

"There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs." - John Rogers

I like Peggy Noonan. I think of her as a female George Will.

But I still put the odds at Obama 55% chance of winning vs. Romney 45%. I also think Ohio won't be decided for awhile.

No, it is as others have pointed out, the risk is greater than the reward. All the benifit of the hard work is being taken away by the gubment, why stay in business?

Why allow the gubment to steal more from your hard work and enterprise?

He certianly doesn't owe the gubment a dang thing, if he had any success it was likely in spite of them instead of because of them.

If it is so great those employees can go start their own business and see how easy it is.

The employees deserve what their work is worth, nothing more. No different than the kid that mows the lawn deserves what the market is for mowing the lawn. As an employee you deserve the worth of your work.

The business owner DOESN'T owe the employees anything from the business because he ALREADY PAID THEM FOR THEIR WORK so no aside from some personal thanks to people (family, friends people that supported him and actually did help along the way) they did help him build his business and they are entitled to gratitude.

The business owner works for his, he provides a service or product, something of value to his customers. So wanting to reap the benifits of that isn't "entitlement".

The "welfare queen" you talked about expects to be paid just for breathing without contributing anything. That's a sense of entitlement.

On that note I think I am going to start advocating that everybody that actually pays taxes should start trying to get every gubment handout available if they really are against being taxed and having it squandered like that. That would not be hypocritical at all because they already feel gubment is too big, is very wasteful and they can do a better job spending their money than the gubment.

You don't think you should be taxed and have it handed out that way so you try to get some of your money back. If Romney qualifies for earned income credit one year due to bad investments he should file and get it and we should not think of that being hypocritical, it should be considered consistent. The gubment stole tons of his money over the years, he doesn't agree with it and is just getting some of it back.

Of course the gubment is worse than the maffia, because by they time you got it back they would have siphoned off 99 bucks of your origional 100 so you would still be losing 99% of it.
