At first I thought you wrote "BENCH PARTY FOREVER". I didn't know what a bench party was, but I liked it...

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Monday has come and almost gone. I'm checking various sites. Nobody is reporting Dooley has been fired. I'm glad that didn't happen and believe that is the correct course of action. At this point.
Now as far as Sal goes...

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Please do fire Sal. Given time and decent players he will turn your defense around. I'd much rather y'all hired Ted Roof.

He already did. Last year our young D was ranked in the top 25. Now we're last in the league and 100+ overall.GBJs wrote: he will turn your defense around

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
If we had the top 25 defense from last season, things would be very different for us and Dooley. I said it before and I'll say it again: we probably would've been undeafeted, or close to it, going into the 'bama game this season if we had a decent defense.
I DVRed the Derek Dooley show from last weekend and finally watched it last night. He made the comment he really only oversees the offense and special teams, both of which are doing pretty good on the whole (BENCH PALARDY FOREVER!!!). He made a quick statement he wasnt' all that good with defense and basically stated he needed someone on that side of the ball to offload everything onto. Well, he may want to learn something about defense because Sal sure isn't getting it done.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Quote from the article 10ac linked to on the Bleach Report:
Is that true?! I know the corner of the world I live in is a very small portion of the entire Vol universe. However, I do listen to a fair amount of call in and sports shows on talk radio, including Vol Calls and the Big Orange Hotline. A grumbling here and there has been noticed for sure. But I haven't exactly heard the calls to get rid of him from every street corner. With each loss, Dooley's seat as Tennessee's main man continues to get dowsed with more and more fuel. If the majority of the fanbase—at least from what I can tell—had its way, Dooley would already be kicked to the curb, and while the Volunteers seem intent on keeping him around for at least the rest of the season, the likelihood of Dooley making it through the winter with his job continues to decrease.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
OF, you need to get away from VolCalls or WIMZ - they are shills for the UTAD and discourage coaching change talk. Try the Tony Basillio show or Erik Ainge show in Knoxville, and online Volnation and gridscape. Search "Gruden to Tennessee" if you've got a lot of time.
There's a general sense of disappointment around here that no announcement re: CDD was made yesterday. Understandable...but
irrelevant. I was worried that UT wouldn't go big (or big enough) but now I'm not.

Ainge has a radio show? Lil' Boo would be better.....
Honestly though as long as Dooley posts the Daily Double on Vandy and Tucky he should be okay for one more year, shouldn't he? What are Bray's prospects for staying?

Dooley could stay, but he'll have to buy a ticket same as me.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
You are 100% correct. I do need to get away from the Orange Colored Kool-aid drinkers once in a blue moon. They are a bunch of back patting intimate chumps who do preach the party line (BENCH PARTY!!! ). But Tony Basillio and Erik Ainge (I flat out forgot he had a radio show...) don't necessarily present and represent the entire Vol nation, just the more vocal ones who are willing to pick up a phone and call to @#$% about things. I'm not sure what searching for Gruden to Tennessee is going to do either. I did a similar search last week and came up with several results. I also came up with several results where he (Gruden) was going to the NFL and not comming to Tennessee. In fact, the general concensus seems to be he is going to the Chargers (if I recall correctly). At any rate, it is to easy for someone's wishful thinking to become Internet rumour which is picked up on by several websites to be paraded around as fact.bluetick wrote:OF, you need to get away from VolCalls or WIMZ - they are shills for the UTAD and discourage coaching change talk. I stand by what I said. Yes, there is a vocal opinionated group out there who would like to see Dooley gone but I'm not seeing everyone blaming him, particularly the administration.
Now if we keep Sal another season and our defense doesn't get better... hmm...

Lil' Boo. LOL It has been a while since I heard that one. I forgot Ainge had a show as well. I'm not sure I have heard it. And to be honest, I'm not going out of my way to listen to it.
Dooley will be here next season barring a total collapse of biblical porportions during the next four games. We beat Kandy, KY, and get to a bowl game (which we probably will), he will absolutely be here.
Bray gives the impression he is a moron who can ignore the fact that his passes are horrible. Yes, he throws some pretty downfield passes and has a great arm, but he often puts the ball where anyone can (and does) catch it while making other boneheaded mistakes. Nobody in the NFL will take in him unless he went [very] low in the draft to become a full time practice QB. Adding in the fact he is a junior, he will be here another season. I hope he doesn't stick around for a 5th season though, unless he gets a LOT better in his decision making.
