The pitching will be there. They just need to keep up the kind of offense we saw last night. Tickets in hand I am pumped for tomorrow night.

I have never seen any good come out of the extra umps on the foul lines in playoffs, only more bad calls.

Sad how you degrade the only manager since Sparky to take the Reds to the playoffs twice. Im starting to think its personal.

They are winning in spite of him, Rat. He puts out two lowest OBP% hitters in front of one of the best RBI guys in the league in Votto. He insists on batting one of our best OBP% guy (Hanigan) 8th simply because he's a catcher. He won't bring the closer into the game in a high-leverage situation in the 8th inning, simply because closers work the 9th only in his "book". He's turned one of the best set-up men in all of baseball into a LOOGY (Marshall). He put our top catching prospect (the one we chose over another top prospect that we traded away) in the dog house after he argued with an umpire and now the kid (Mesoraco) isn't even on the roster. He insists on playing veterans over ROY talent (Rolen over Frazier).

I will grant that his personal skills in the clubhouse have done wonders this year and the players love him. That definitely counts for something. But, he needs a bench coach that makes in-game strategic decisions.

I think I saw Mesoraco in a minor league game last year, either against the Mudcats or playing for them. He was definitely the best player on either roster...
