Cigarettes are okay in the North Carolina and Virginia wings of Baptist heaven.
And I found alcohol is readily available in Baptist heaven. It's in the back, behind closed doors, and extremely crowded.

Well, I'm still here. So if the earth lost 3% of it's entire population yesterday as a result of rapture, then I guess I don't rate and God doesn't want me. I'll be here with the rest of you heathens until we meet our eventual end on Octover 21st.Professor Tiger wrote:Cigarettes are okay in the North Carolina and Virginia wings of Baptist heaven.

This is why Standard & Poors and other securities rating entities are under investigation right now...Owlman wrote:Again bullshit. If they took every defaulted loan to low income, it wouldn't come close to the losses that were eventually suffered. Just based on the value of those loans, the banks could have easily written them off.
The problem was the repackaging and reselling of some 2 billion and mortgage loans into securities that were rated higher and then sold on the open market for 1000's time their actual value. Lending it wasn't the problem The lying about what they were actually become the problem.

Remember a cardinal rule of PNN: it was all the fault of the Democrats. Although they were not in control of the White House or Senate for the preceding 8 years, and the House for the previous 6 years, they unfairly used their minority status to implement the insane banking and trading practices that led to the crash and recession. W and the R's were helpless to stop them.DooKSucks wrote:This is why Standard & Poors and other securities rating entities are under investigation right now...Owlman wrote:Again bullshit. Of course we all know that W and McCain were calling for reforms to Freddie and Fannie many years ago. Jackasses in both parties resisted it.
Of course Dodd and Frank(? or was it a different one?) received below market loans from the people they were supposed to be overseeing. No stink made no looking into it at all by govt or the press. It must have worried Dodd though cause he chose not to run instead of facing a possible investigation in the future.

Can easily happen in most hospitals in the United States. We've have had a significant increase in emergency rooms closing for being full and referring patients to surrounding E.R.'s over the past 20 years. I have personal experience of some patients having to be sent 50 miles away to the nearest hospital emergency room that's open. The primary reason for this has been that physicians started doing more outpatient work and patients were spending less time in the hospital. In response, hospitals have markedly diminished in hospital beds. This means that at times, there is no place to move patients as they come through the E.R. Think of it like the airlines, decreasing flights so that more planes fly full.
This is a market response, not a regulatory one.
