The Reds had been playing one of the weakest schedules in baseball, now they have to play 13 straight games against teams with winning records.

Imagine where the Reds would be if Wainwright hadn't blown out his elbow? Or if Freese hadn't broken his finger? Jeez, with a bit of luck, The Birds could be 6 games up right now.

Joey is a terrific player. Right now, he's the best 1B in the league. Never though I'd be saying that.

I guess it's no shocker that the Reds sent Volquez down. How can a guy with that much talent pitch so poorly?

At this point, I can't help gloating, but if this goes on much longer, I'll actually start to feel sorry for you Reds' fans.

Which do you think is worse, a 10 game losing streak or being on the receiving end of Red Bird's pity?

Yea, but history suggests that teams in first place at the beginning of June ordinarily finish first. The stats say the Reds have only a 24% chance to make the playoffs.
