morning joe had rand paul on this morning

rand paul 2016 with joe as his VP or vice versa --throw chris christie in the mix

I think after 8 years of obama care/ increasing the monetary supply by skyroceketing the deficit--one of those three will win 2016

The article is short and the video is apparently in Swedish, so there is no sound, but this interesting nevertheless...

Heh
* The Romneys donated $4,020,772 to charity in 2011, amounting to nearly 30% of their income.

* The Romneys claimed a deduction for $2.25 million of those charitable contributions.

So, thanks to the charitable deduction in the tax code, he was technically allowed to reduce the amount of income subject to the income tax even further.

The trouble is, if Romney did that, he would have ended up paying less than 13 percent of his income in federal taxes (back-of-the-envelope calculations suggest the amount would have likely been somewhere around 9 to 11 percent). That would have conflicted with his statement in August that he has paid at least 13 percent the past ten years. So Romney opted to limit his charitable deduction to just $2.25 million, essentially agreeing to pay the government more in taxes than he needed to. In the end, Romney had an effective federal tax rate of 14.1 percent.

(Personally, all very shrewd moves by Mitt. Best decisions made in weeks)

If somebody gives 30 fucking percent of their income to charity, they shouldn't have to pay any taxes. I can't understand why Romney isn't playing up the $4 million to charity rather than getting snagged up in the percentages paid (or not paid) as federal income tax. Nobody wants to pay taxes, but most everyone admires charitable giving. I can't see why Mitt doesn't just come out and say "Look, fucknuts, I gave 4 fucking million dollars to charity, of course I got to write that off. I'm not obligated to pay tax on that and nobody should have to. In fact, if you elect me, I'll try to make it so that if people give to the charity of their choice an amount equal to what they owe in federal income tax, they don't have to pay that federal income tax." I guarandamntee you almost everybody would rather give to the charity of their choice than give it to the federal government, which is really little more than the charity of nobody's choice....

But then he would have to tell all those Evangelicals that almost all of his charitable giving was to the LDS Church...which is not something he wants focused on too much.

That's why they put the returns out on a Friday afternoon. That way its impact is diluted in the media.

I'd rather the church have it than the government, but I wouldn't let churches count as a charity...

in retrospect, I may have voted for Hillary if it meant that Bill Clinton was really president again behind the scenes.

I watched him on the Daily Show and the guy just has the ability to talk to the American public in a way that makes you say "yea well, who wouldn't get their dick sucked by an intern if they were president?" If that is the worst shit a president has done, make him president for life!"

Its weird because Hillary is a warhawk, but both Bill and Obama come off as much more reserved about blowing shit up than her - but she is our Sec. of State.

You know behind closed doors she is like grabbing leaders by the balls and twisting them saying she'll rip that shit off if they talk trash about us again.

Bill Clinton with a republican congress was great.

Gridlock where people compromise, great. Gridlock where they never compromise, or where some actually believe compromise is a dirty word, terrible.

Actually, the Clinton/Repub combo accomplished alot. Reduced spending to 18% of gdp, welfare reform, and the imfamous repeal of the Glass-Steagal Act.

Yeah, but sometimes "accomplishments" based on "compromise" lead to disaster. Sometimes it really is better to do nothing than to do something just for the sake of saying "Look! We compromised and got something done!"

Clinton was motivated to wrap things up and get back to the office.
