You nailed it. If the Gators can keep their QBs healthy through their next 3, with maybe one surprise and going 2-1, they have a great chance for a top 10 finish. Thank God they don't play Bama though. That beating might fuck with their heads.

File this under "What do we have to do to catch a break"...

Brian Randolph, our leading tackler who collected 22 tackles this year so far and 55 last year after starting 8 games (as a freshman!) and was named to all SEC all-fresman team last season, has suffered a torn ACL with the result being... yeah, you know what it is... him being out all season.

A new dcoordinator with a new scheme. We need all hands on deck healthy to learn this scheme and get some experience that comes with playing time. And guess what? Our leading tackler goes down.

That's kind of random, ain't it? What about the four games before we play Calacky..
I can see from your perspective why you said that.

Understand I was looking at our schedule in its entirety, including those previous 4 games. At some point, in order for us to honestly say we are improving, we are going to have to beat good teams or at least beat a team who we used to traditionally pound but has had our number the past 3 or so years. Additionally, we need to be competitive with the other teams. We can not just pound cream puffs while getting creamed in our losses to reach a 7-5 or 8-4 record and say we are "improving".

Keeping that in mind, Alabama is a wash. They will take us behind the shed and make us their biatches. GA is probably a wash as well. So looking at the remaing 7 teams and looking for a team who is a solid team who has beaten us the past several seasons but look beatable, I see Carolina.

Hey, we did beat Tenny in our recent match-up with them. But I knew what he meant. Even so, seeing a UT fan giddy about the mere possibility of beating anybody named Carolina is a pretty big come-down...

Auburn v. Tennessee would have been an interesting game this year. We both suck. We could have had fun discovering who sucks more.

Good fortune smiled upon me at the last moment and I ended up going to the game. I had a blast.

I'm not anywhere close to saying bye to Dooley. Furthermore, I don't believe he deserves such thinking at this point. However, that 4th and 7 attempt sure was a nail in the ol' termination coffin. Not the final nail but it was a nail. I mean, WTF?! Good football dictates, considering Akron was playing us so close score wise and taking into account the field position, we should have kicked the ball with the hopes of pinning them within their own 10 yard line. The decision to go for it on that play was fucking retarded. And speaking of retarded, on the 4th and 1 (which again we didn't make), WTF was up with the play calling on that? Let's take the smallest 'back we have and run him straight at the defense. Yeah, good luck there!

I've got other things to say and comment on, but I'm to tired at the moment.

I hope everyone enjoyed the game as much as I did. Goodnight!!

I will offer one more parting shot in retrospect...

WTF is up with Zack Rogers? One minute he looks like he an NFL caliber receiver. The next minute he's dropping passes practically anyone can catch. He is perhaps the most aggravating player to watch I have ever seen.

The wife and I made a return to our old west side stadium neighborhood, having been displaced in favor of the Tennessee Terrace boxes a few years back . Gotta say, the leg of lamb, mango towels, and neck messages took away some of the bitterness.
