I'm going to try the range extender again, but the last time I tried, it asked me for all this info about the computer (names, passwords, all that shit) that I have no idea of. I asked about that in here a while back, but the instructions on how to find that shit were so long I just returned it...

yes.

going under the house is easier that thru the ceiling, however if you go thru the ceiling consider going thru a closet, pantry or air duct.

Get a 3/4 inch wood drill bit and drill a hole in an out of the way spot like under a desk or next to a baseboard, pull the cable thru giving yourself enough slack to support moving it a few feet and then caulk around the hole, unless you are going thru carpet, then just run it under the carpet

And, yes, they will charge you but it will be cheaper than a new router and 100ft of cable.

If you want OT on both areas, run the cable up to the attic and accross.

Also, even when we do get a signal in the front room, if the phone rings, it knocks it out. Seems like there'd be some way to run the phone off'n a different signal than the cable and the internets. No problem watching TV and running the internet simultaneously, why should a damn phone call send us back to the 19th century when the internet was a big chalkboard in Kansas and us in buckled shoes and pilgrim hats?
