Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Good to see you again, TNV. Let the record show that I was not the one to bring this up.

I suspect that AA has calculated this as a way to put us off of our celebration of last night's win. It won't work.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Hello, TNVOL.
It's not arguing, its a long-standing ceremonial rite that harkens the start of football. Its tradition. Think Festivus for CFB.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Hack,
Re-Updyke. That was NOT your argument. If it were, you would have simply said, "The fact that he was not born in Alabama, did not attend the University of Alabama and did not work in Alabama is not relevant." You did not. You stated he was NOT a trooper in Texas. I proved you wrong.
My point was never that the Texas State Troopers have a vendetta against trees and you know that. You make a habit of lying. My point with regard to him being a trooper in Texas was (1) that it was scary that someone so unstable had the authority to carry a gun and arrest people (2) that his "connection" to UA is thin - in fact, the only thing that ties him to UA is his stated fandom: he was born in Florida, did not attend UA and worked and lived the majority of his life in Texas.
No, I am correct on the play. If as he crossed. He bobbled, it is not a TD. You have to have possession as the plane is broken. For TV, there are roughly 24 "frames" in a second.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
After looking at the fumble play on ESPN3 just a few seconds ago, In the end, it's not really a play that either side could reasonably complain about. It was that close. He did bobble the ball very close to crossing the plane. I personally think he held onto it a nanosecond long enough for it to be ruled a TD, but I do not think the ACC refs in the booth or the SEC refs on the field deserve scorn for how they ruled, but had I been they replay official, I would have given UT the TD.
And let me say, I hate when players do those arm extention reaches in pile-ups. Seen a ton of them go badly for Bama.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
In a weird sorta way, this argument reminds me of the Florida TD catch against Tennessee a number of years back (Gaffney?) Florida fans argue that he held onto the ball long enough to establish a possession, and since it broke the plane, TD. Tennessee argued that the nanosecond he had the ball did not equal possession.
The officials ruled TD and the uproar caused the NCAA to clarify the rule in the off season.

And Georgia. Tennessee looks like the most improved East team. It's early, but y'all looked solid.

If Tenny can't beat this edition of UF at home, the Dooley experiment will be over.

U*NC is the cleanest most honest athletic program on the planet. I am jealous of their deserved success, and I'm a mewling cunt.
