Much of the 13-page report describes an athletics program that has too much control over athletes, and not enough effort by the university to make sure athletes are getting a full educational experience. The authors noted that the admissions office under its current director has never rejected a student athlete with a subpar academic record that has received a recommendation from a special advisory committee.

Wow, according to that article, right there in the heart of the "scandal", the number of basketball players majoring in AA Studies was 3 of 11 (2006), 3 out of 15 (2007) and 2 out of 11 (2008). Scandalous....

so your defense is that in a best case scenario only approximately 20% of your basketball team were majoring in a fraudulent curriculum. yeah. go with that one.

if its a legitimate program then no big deal

however there would seem to be some concern that this program was setup for guys to not even show up for class - similar to the Jim Harrick Ga scandal.

If that is the case...Carolina should go down in flames.

The issue is that the NCAA has no desire to go after UNC..especially regarding an "African American studies" program

if by concern you mean unc has admitted the classes were set up for no show then you are correct.
