For those with Netflix...just finished watching Bill Burr's "Let It Go" special. That dude slays me. His routine on "rescue" dogs ("bullshit! You did not 'rescue' the fucking animal! That's a free dog! Did you go into a burning building to get him?") is fucking genius. Hilarious dude. Stream it. Please.

I watched the 3rd episode of Newsroom.

I thought it was pretty thought provoking but they missed a key issue and that is the outrage that news anchor had over the Tea Party being co-opted by radicals is his outrage is misplaced - "his" party, as he referred to it, the GOP has completely redefined what conservative means.

The tea party is an easy target but if you are railing against them for not allowing compromise, then you should ask what is the idea of compromise now and it will usually mean that its still deficit spending. His biggest complaint should be that the party of non intervention, the party of smaller government, the party of individual rights introduced wars, took away individual freedoms and doubled the deficit in 8 years post 9/11. Obama has only continued the path they laid out. I personally believe the show would have had just as much punch if they touched on the real issue driving voter outrage and that is the lack of direction provided by the GOP, which is why Mitt Romney doesn't generate much support within his own base.

I did think they had great points about Grover Norquist. I understand why they feel the need to go after Rand Paul but its to his credit they felt he was a threat enough to merit mentioning.

But they really should have talked about why the GOP is in such disarray. The tea party didn't come about because of T.A.R.P. or the Wall St. Bailout, it came about because the GOP was party to it.

I was working Sunday night, so I missed it. I was working until midnight last night, so I didn't watch it then.

My life is sucking right now.

it was pretty preachy but I thought it was better writing.

Not so much the Dragnet banter that annoys me but more of the "message" that West Wing could deliver. I didn't agree with the sentiment but I thought the show was well written.

Tuesday night is $5 night at our movie theater so I hit it up for the new Spiderman.

Generally the same story as the first Tobey McGuire one but I liked this one better.

Since you pretty much know the whole story line from previous movies and the trailers, the value of seeing the movie is in the minor changes they made in how he approached becoming Spidey.

Sally Field and Martin Sheen as the Aunt and Uncle are a serious upgrade over the previous actors.
