drove thru the Kentucky speedway area this morning on I-71 and saw all the bullshit they were doing to re route traffic later in the day.

Knowing I was going to have to drive back thru it, I decided to go north thru Louisville and cross over into Indiana, and drive east until we hit I-275 and bypass I-71 altogether.

Brilliant plan until I got stuck in 2 hours of traffic in Louisville because they had I-65 one lane from virtually the city limits to the river. Then my fucktard GPS , lets call him Jack the motherfucking recalcuting son of a bitch led me all over god's green earth once I was in Indiana and didn't know my way around. I ended up turning that yappy punk bitch off and following the road along the Ohio river because I knew at some point I had to hit Cincinnati. Its a goddamn cornfield you lost piece of shit!
I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

I guess the degree of difference is relative but Sonic is much better than McDonalds, plus they have full menu all day long and a soft drink selection that rocks. Strawberry Lime-aids are the shizz

I've had Sonic Burgers. The one I had was very McDonald-ish. I dont drink shakes or sodas, so I would be in the same boat as Rat except I like their chili dogs. Again, those are nothing out of the world, but they're harder to find than a burger. So, I give them a +1.

Felt the same way driving the west side of town today. Might be my third time in my life I've actually driven inthrough Price Hill. My GPS was no better.

Btw, I heard the traffic wasn't a problem around the race.

In my 15 years of coaching baseball, girls softball, soccer etc - nothing makes you a hero to some of these kids quicker than a trip to Golden Corral.

Just this past thursday I suggested Cracker Barrel and was told by a young lady "thats where the rich folk eat"

LMAO

Cracker Barrell is cheaper than Golden Corral.

Pound for pound served, I would rather buy Doc dinner at GC.

Now, that is accurate. Until the Chinese lady came out of the back and shouted, "You have all you can eat! You go now!"

Incorrect. yes, you could order a low-end menu item at CB, drink water and tip niggardly and you'd pay less than at GC. But if you breakdown the cost per ounce, GC wins going away. Even if you don't pack your jowls and then belch to make room for 3 desserts as I've been known to do.

The last time I was at GC, this lady sitting in the booth behind us came back to the table with 2 plates piled high with fried seafood and fried chicken and several other meat servings and copious amounts of vegetables. I just happened to glance at her (she looked like Hoyt's mother on True Blood) and smile a hello and she shot back a "Yeah, that's right. I'm by myself and all this is for me" look.

Later, I noticed she was slowly finishing it off, looking like she was struggling to breathe. But I'll give her credit, she did go up and get a small piece of cake for dessert. I'll bet she went home and took a nasty shit before going to church that night.

Every Saturday night we go out to eat and on a rotating basis one family member gets to decide where we go. My 10 year old chooses GC quite often and I absoulutely hate it. Outmaneuvering fatties to get to a trough is not exactly how I want to spend an evening.

My wife likes to occassionally pick CB. If there weren't a country store in the lobby and checkers on the porch, this place would have been out of business long time ago. The food is just bland. maybe the cornbread and biscuits are pretty good, but the entrees are blah. I did pick up a dvd on the old Hee Haw shows at the store in memory of my dad who loved it. Nothing better than pure unadulterated sexism you could get away with in the 70's.

Most of the Cracker Barrell Entrees are $7-$9 - Golder Corral is $11 or some such.

Cost per ounce? Sure, GC wins.

my kids love GC too but I had to scratch it - the place is always packed and dodging various walkers, oxygen bottles, wheelchairs, etc., just became too much for me. I always ended up getting the less popular foods on the buffet because there was no line for them. Plus, with drink, its like $13 a head now - I mean that isn't bad but I'd rather send another $20 and hit Maggiano's.

I've started hitting truck stops lately, especially the Iron Skillet spots. Best, freshest salad bar - comparable to Ruby Tuesday and some damn fine fried chicken. Maybe only a few dollars cheaper than GC but never crowded, plus for a road trip you can get gas and a 44oz big gulp. I'm a sucker for any place called Kountry Kitchen too.

yea the food is definitely on the bland side but I suspect that is part of how they keep the costs down.

I took some of my son's friend to camp yesterday and asked them where they wanted to stop - KFC, Taco Bell, all the burger chains, etc and they all wanted Subway. From the 25 year old down, the message of eating healthy has taken hold. I also have to keep the room stocked with snacks for the training program I do. I have 16 college grads now and they want nothing but bottled water, nutri grain, bananas and apples. I still have a box of little debbie cakes that I bought from the first week they haven't touched. They all drink like sailors on leave though.

I like to go to Golden Corral, order all you can eat, and then make a big show of getting a tiny plate of food and then not eating it all. It infuriates the fatty crowd...

drinking like sailors on leave pretty much cancels out any nutritional benefit from going to subway

Yeah but that still beats drinking and then making a late nite Krystal or Dominoes run.
