Instagram is actually pretty dope.
The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.

Your relish is palpable. Kinda sad to see someone who prides himself on being even-keeled being so consumed with rage towards a company...

Re: Ostensibly Hoops
of all the players in the draft, I honestly think Royce White is the one player that could take over games in the NBA. Of course Davis is a great player, Gilchrist, Beal , Thomas, Barnes - all ass kickers but White has a court awareness that none of them have, IMO.
He doesn't need a point guard to set him up and I don't think anyone can create their own shot better than him.
The knock on him of course is that he is a head case - from petty criminal to ending up in the fetal position when he gets stressed out - but I'd roll the dice on him.

I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

Re: Ostensibly Hoops
For the Bobcats it is a hard choice since they need to upgrade every position. They need to go after someone with the most chance of being an all star. I would be happy with Gilchrist or Waiters, maybe ok with Robinson.

Re: Ostensibly Hoops
Good capsules of everyone of interest in here...
Days before NBA draft, scouts size up Anthony Davis, Brad Beal, more
Finch is really, really busy these days. He works late, gets up early, and sleeps very little in between. This is the most stressful week of Finch's year, but it's also the most exciting. All that traveling, all that work, all that analyzing will finally come to fruition on Thursday night. When it's over, Finch will exhale. Then he'll get up early Friday morning and get right back to work.
Finch is an NBA scout -- sort of. He's actually an amalgam of six NBA scouts, coaches and executives that I spoke with over the last two weeks to get their thoughts on the current crop of draftable collegians. I have culled together all their quotes into one smooth paragraph uttered by a character named "Finch," a nom de plume coined by my colleague Alex Wolff many years ago to describe an anonymous scout who was the subject of an SI story. (Alex chose the name "Finch" because it was Scout's surname in To Kill A Mockingbird. And NBA scouts like to remain anonymous so they can say what they really think.)

Re: Ostensibly Hoops
I liked the write up of Zeller. I've always thought he is going to make the best pro out of this group. Maybe not an allstar, but a solid starter with a long career...

Re: Ostensibly Hoops
you really think Zeller is going to be the best pro in this draft?
talk about a complete waste
"Renardo Sidney, 6-9 forward, Mississippi State: "He can't play more than three or four minutes at a time. No one will touch him. He has no chance. I'll let somebody else take that project on.""

Re: Ostensibly Hoops
I think he meant the best of the UNC group.
It looks like Cleveland is willing to trade the Bobcats the 4th and 24th pick for the 2nd pick. Portland may be interested in trading the 6th and 11th for Bobcats' 2nd pick. I'd be inclined to take the Portland offer.

Of the Carolina guys in the draft, yes, I won't be surprised at all if he ends up having the best overall pro career of this bunch...

Bobcats will take Barnes, thus sealing the deal on the worst year ever by a professional sports franchise in North America.

I think Barnes will be a better pro than a collegian
If no one comes from the future to stop you from doing it, then how bad of a decision can it really be?

Re: Ostensibly Hoops
I do too, but he wasn't really a great college player. Very, very good, but not truly great. I think he'll be a good pro and have a nice career, but I'll be surprised if he ends up as anything more than a solid starter, perhaps along the lines of (dare I say it?) Tayshun Prince. Not necessarily that exact type of player, but more or less the same caliber. Of course, if he achieves that, he'll be a gazillionaire and good for him, but I don't see him being a superstar in the league...

I really don't see any reason why Zeller can't be the next Pau Gasol. I think any team can use a guy like that...

Re: Ostensibly Hoops
I think Marshall will have a nice NBA career, too, esp. if he lands on a decent team with some athletes who can finish. He'll make guys like that very happy...
Henson is the biggest question mark to me. After his freshman year, I thought he was a bust, but something clicked and he got better and better. If he can keep improving (and gain some weight), he could be a Sam Perkins type, which I think would be his absolute ceiling. But that's a pretty high ceiling. On the down side, if he's as good (or nearly as good) as he's ever going to get, I don't see him making much of an impact. But if he continues to improve his game and his body, he could end up being a good player in the league.
I basically see all four of our guys being career starter caliber players in the league. Not somebody to build a team around, but guys you can count on to do their jobs and produce consistently. You've got to have guys like that to have any chance of having a winning team...

Re: Ostensibly Hoops
I think Davis has a chance to be a great player at the next level. I don't see him as a superstar, but maybe in the next tier below that level. Like Rasheed Wallace level. Guy is definitely a winner. Not sure about UK's other guys. Obviously I haven't watched them as much as the UK fans in here. From what I've seen and heard, Gilcrest has the motor, athleticism and attitude to be really good, but I hear his shot is suspect. Still, I wouldn't be surprised to see him be the second best player on his team.
Jones I don't know about. I don't know if he can really bang with the 4's in the league and I don't know if he's fluid enough to be really effective at the 3. He's got a man's body, though and should be a solid starter for any team in the league.
Teague I have no idea about...
