I don't have a FB page but I did start on Twitter for work. that's a good place to find out what's happening real quick.

I know this doesn't really belong on the Hoops forum, but I figured it'd get more run over here. Guess who was accepted as a preferred walk-on QB to the UNC football team? None other than Butch Davis' son, Drew.

I tell y'all what, boys, we just might be SEC material yet.

Well, it's hard to believe Drew Davis didn't get recruited because he was a great HS QB at E. Chapel Hill. Interestingly, the coach there is Bryn Renner's dad.

I can't believe any of this shit, Saint. Y'all know I'm not a kiss ass "Carolina Way" type, but why we bend over backwards for our pathetic football program boggles my mind. We take Butch's boy, but the eggheads in UNC Admissions threw up roadblocks on Kevin Durant. Just unbelievable to me.

there was a story on him in the N&O last year. he threw for 3500 yds. and 30 TDs at ECH so I'm guessing he probably had some offers from FCS schools at least, given his lineage.

seriously? everybody else sees it for what it is-- a diversion to take the focus off the cheating in your hoops program....

Bend backwards for the football program? Good God. The football program is despised by the administration, but the crowd in South Building knows that they can't back away from football.

Look at the issues Carolina has had with getting JuCo's and dumbasses admitted for football.

Basketball lost one: Kevin Durant. I will concede that's a big one, but name other ones.

If Facebook offered free pie, would that tempt you back to them AA?
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

It's not the concept that will go away, per se (IMO), it's the platform. What separates FB from MySpace? From Friendster? The only separation is the 1 billion users. Now, that's nothing to sneeze at, but it doesn't necessarily make it stickier. My thought is that FB will run into something else that kids think is cooler because all of the 30 and younger people will have it and very soon will be seen as the old farts place to hang out.

Personally, I had my doubts on FB when I heard that China already had their version of it. If you're basically frozen out of China, your future prospects are not as bright.
It's already happened. Kids on Twitter call Facebook the place where there parents hang out on the web.

The kids are using twitter and cell phones (texting of course, I don't think they even know how to talk) for most of their verbal communication, but they still pile up all their pictures on FB...
