Last week I started losing the sight in my left eye. Went to the optomoligist and he discovered I had a detached retna and was days away from permenate loss of sight. Emergency surgery was done on Thursday. I'm OK now, sight is coming back, but it was frightening. If you ever start seeing a shadow coming accross your eye get to the eye Dr immediately.

Thanks for the well wishes. My sight is improving daily, though I still can't drive. I did make it to my nieces wedding in Virginia this weekend. From there we went to the Blue Ridge mountains in Virginia. I'm heading down to Banner Elk NC today. Glad to see the Reds won last night. I'm concerned about the Pirates they've turned out to be a lot better than anticipated.

It seemed like Fifer's problem was due to a detached retina...which I think only occurs via some sort of trauma to the eye area.

Age is what causes 90 percent of them. Occasionaly eye trama. It comes on very quickly, but they can save your vision if you get to the eye specialist quickly. The surgery was last Tursday. My vision should be 100 percent by next week.

Of course in North Carolina the only specialist they have are ones who cure STD's by sticking hot irons up your dick. Ask Hedge, he'll tell you all about it.
