Definitely. We'll only have to come up with spending money. Plus, we're friends with the Dean of Engineering as well as a few other Professors that'll will be around (he's Computer Science)

One of my closest friends (and old roommate) is a professor of Engineering down there too. If you're down with the Dean, you should have a good support system and navigator for the things that can be frustrating about HU.

well that's great then. I suspect he'll want bigger things in life after he graduates but if job hunting is a challenge, let me know. I might be able to help him out.

good news Stu: Californians have created pot-infused wine: http://now.msn.com/living/0415-wine-mar ... d=xnetr1-5

now if they can just figure out a way to also infuse the wine with greasy snacks, you'll be all set...

Thanks eCat.

Engineers and Computer Science. My wife graduates from high school (second in her class) and even before college she gets a job at Union Carbide at $8.00 per hour (the minimum wage was $2:15 back then). Biology/Pre-med majors? Bedpan changers. As an EE, she would call up a few companies and say she's looking at them for work and they'd fly her out for a visit. Now my son is applying for a summer clerkship with Google simply because he's going to major in computer science - no class (there was one, but it was taught by the baseball coach and my self-taught son knew more than the coach).

(not quite as nice now as it was in the 80's but not bad)

yea, thats the world I live in right now. If you have an engineering or science degree, are a recent graduate and you have a decent GPA, there is no unemployment issue.

I'm talking to kids that have 2 or 3 job offers in hand when they get to us.

I was pre-engineering back in the day.

But i quickly realized that sliding a wooden block down a wooden ramp in 7 a.m. physics lab in order to measure the co-efficient of friction was going to fuck up my sex life.

so I wised up and swapped engineering for literature.

According to Bill Simmons, that's all Orlando is. I think he affectionately calls it the Cougar Capital of the US.

Another fine example of the power of an education from North Carolina.
