This episode of Mad Men is ridiculous. They couldn't whittle some of this bullshit down to get it under 2 hours?

I don't give a fuck about Pete's desire for a larger office. This has sucked. It's a shittastic ending to a shittastic fucking day.

I'm gonna have to find a way to watch the season 2 premiere of Downton Abbey to wash the taste of that shit down.

Agreed, it seemed like they were forced by the network to stretch out an episode into two hours.

Best part was holding the baby with a cigarrette in your mouth and no one winces....Oh, and the fact that Don Draper is still one lucky bastard.

I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

Surprised no GoT talk in here. I guess this is what happens when nearly everyone has read the books, so the actions of the opener cause very little ripple.

I haven't read the books and I'm just waiting for Joffrey's head to bounce. looking back, has there ever been a more bumbling character than Ned STark?

I hate both Joffrey and Cersei (sp? and sp?). They are one's I can never expect to scratch out any redeeming qualities.

Robb is cruising for a bruising, too. He's not playing winning ball. His long game is not being played right.

Most things I would discuss would get spoilerish for non-readers. Plus two of the other big book fans (Mook and Augie) arent around.

Oh, I didn't read the books but I have pretty much sorted out what they say via online discussions and other avenues. I don't mind spoilers. In fact, I welcome them.

pretty much

and 90% of my posts would have to be spoiler tagged anyway

I have it on PVR but I've heard they tried to stuff 1/4 of book 2 into yesterday's episode and that it may have confused some of the non-read viewers

They got in some of the garbage filler (cross the red wastes, tyrion takes control, craster, wheres arya?) IMO and did it pretty well. No idea if non-readers were confused, but I didnt notice anything that would confuse anybody. Most of the real meat of Book 2 is still out there, I cant think of one real important thing in last nights episode besides the scene that introduces Stannis, Davos, and Melisandre. (texags crybabies would probably want to tar and feather me for that last one..."You asshole! You read the book! I want to be able to analyze every single moment of the episode and think its important and now youve ruined it! You go to hell!" etc)

Its odd...I immediately noticed last night that the actor playing Ser Jorah also played Sir Richard Carlisle from Downtown Abbey when I watched the episode last night, but I don't think I even realized that I had seen him anywhere else when I watched DA (and of course Id already seen GoT season 1)

Why did Augie leave anyway? No way that was my fault. Or did he accidentally lock himself into a freezer her was selling?

Augie's last convo in here was the hamburger conversation that suddenly "went to 11" for some reason with AA. He hasn't posted since.

Last night didn't confuse me, at all. I will say, all this talk about Stannis (who I do know), Davos (which is a billionaire's boondoggle in my world), craster and Melisandre is a little confusing...only because it's too early for me to get the new names of characters. Besides that, I'm still on solid ground following it all.
