Please do something about all those ads for male tourism to Thailand. They're all over the Tennessee thread.

A feel good article about America becoming more energy independent.

The NYT is obviously concerned about Obama's declining poll numbers, especially regarding his energy policy. They are doing their best to remediate that situation.

WRT Obama's photo-op trip out west, there should be ample opportunity for a really nice picture of him wearing a hard hat, standing in front of a drilling rig. Any such photo will be as ridiculous and infamous as the one of Dukakis wearing a helmet and driving a tank around.

Good find, sardis.

More recently, with gasoline prices rising and another election looming, Mr. Obama has struck a different chord. He has opened new federal lands and waters to drilling, trumpeted increases in oil and gas production and de-emphasized the challenges of climate change. On Thursday, he said he supported expedited construction of the southern portion of the proposed Keystone XL oil pipeline from Canada.

I, for one, am happy he did the politically expedient thing, which in this case is the right thing. Now, I hope people realize that the spigots may shut off mid November if he's elected...

I would agree with you, if he is planning on repatriating back to Kenya after his scourge in office. But I get the sense that he wants to stay here in his adopted country post-WH and try to sell more books and go on the chicken-marsalla circuit and basically do what a former prez-turned-statesman does.

And I think if he does win in November, the terrorist-muslim-commie-antichrist rhetoric will subside substantially because the objective of said rhetoric becomes obsolete. Then the matter rationally boils down to whether a big-spending dem can work with a republican congress to pare down our huge deficit. If he doesn't, history will judge him as a failed prez a la Jimmy Carter (if not moreso). And I just don't think he wants to spend the last 30-40 years of his life with that label.

He may not shut the spigot after the election because I believe he is not an environmentalist in his core. He's just trying to pander them enough for their support without having the rest of the country pissed at him. I do, however, believe he is a socialist to the core and will not budge on the size of federal government or his view on national healthcare. You think he's going to back down and compromise with conservatives during his second term, but I think he's more likely to try to convince the public that deficits don't matter.

While Obama is busy pandering to his base in an election year, Romney is busy pissing off his.

Glad to see the right embracing smart technology. Seems everybody is hoisting those red sketching tablets these days.

There's rumor of more to come. Photostat machines (hipsters call them 'copiers'), and phones without cords..
