Don't mention that name again.

aTm, just say, over and over, "Dennis Franchione was never the coach at Texas A&M!"

He had a decent run at Alabama. All part of his master plan to get back to Texas.

...Mike Price on the other hand never coached a game or signed a contract...

There are some memories you cant get rid of, even with a baseball bat.

You can't blame a college football coach looking to upgrade to a better program with more tradition.

Absolutely right. Some even leave the pro ranks to come to Alabama.

That's because NFL players and Bama players both get paid.

The Bears have had an atrocious offensive line for what seems like a decade. The Bears' total inability to pass block has led to three successive QB's - Rex Grossman, Kyle Orton, and now, Jay Cutler - getting hammered on virtually every pass play. But the Bears' coaches and management keep drafting and trading for players at every position OTHER than offensive line. It's as if they think that O-linemen are unimportant to their offense. Or, more specifically, it's as if the Bears' management thinks their perennial woes on offense are unrelated to the fact that their O-line is horrific.

So what do with their first draft pick? They pick a linebacker. The second round pick will probably be a defensive lineman, and third round pick will probably be a punter.

I've been a Bears fan since '85, but this insanity is making me reconsider...

Maybe they realized that their QBs were shit and went defense to help the offense get more chances.

If the Bears' QB's are for shit, then recent history suggests that it's he Bears' O-line that made them that way. Cutler was a very good QB in Denver, but he comes to Chicago and becomes canon fodder ever since. Simultaneously, Kyle Orton was a bad QB in Chicago, but goes to Denver and does pretty well. Even lowly Rex Grossman, who was detested and reviled in Chicago, goes to Washington and is now a decent starter again.

I'm convinced that if the Bears had John Elway, Dan Marino and Joe Montana in the prime as their Qb's, all three would be reduced to mush for lack of O-line blocking. And the Bears' solution would be to draft more defensive players.

Madness. Sheer madness.

If Cutler somehow physically survives his contract with Chicago, and he is still in one piece enough to go somewhere else, he will be an All-Pro candidate there. Getting your head kicked in ten times every game will make any QB look like ham smelling like pee.

2) G,BIIT

4) killing your trees with a pressure washer and blaming another fan base
