Coming to an Obama reelection commercial this fall:
Romney calls the individual mandate "ultimate conservatism":
There went that issue for Republicans.

This is ridiculous. Last night, Willard Mitt extended his lead over Santorum.Professor Tiger wrote:Romney mostly wins:Code: Select all
Romney: I'm winning all the "kind of important states"
1. In the northeastern states, where they are fond of liberals and where he'll never win in November.
2. Out west, where there are a lot of Mormons.
3. Where the conservative vote is split between Santorum and Gingrich (OH, MI).
Romney should beg and plead Gingrich to stay in, keep splitting the conservative vote, and thereby ensure a Romney nomination. Or Romney should pay Adelson to continue funding Gingrich for the same reason.
Tiger, what remaining states do you actually think Santorum will win? I'll give him 6, Nebraska, Louisiana, Mizzou, Texas, South Dakota, and Pennsylvania.
Romney is going to take the rest, with or without Newt Gingrich in the race.

Detroit, a beacon of sustainability to the left....more Solyndras...more unions...more stimulus....4 MORE YEARZZZ...
That's because the city, which has twice as many retirees as workers, is spending more on retirement benefits than wages. Pensions make up about two thirds of the public-safety payroll, and many collective-bargaining agreements entitle laid-off workers to pensions. The city has a $600 million unfunded pension liability and a $5 billion—you read that right—liability for retiree health benefits.

EXCLUSIVE: O'KEEFE VIDEO EXPOSES VOTER FRAUD-FRIENDLY POLICIES IN VERMONT
http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government ... %20Vermont
The video, a sequel to O'Keefe's "Primary of the Living Dead" in New Hampshire, shows a Veritas agent entering various voting places around the state of Vermont, giving a different name each time. Each time, he is given a ballot without showing an ID, to his disbelief.
In the video, the agent repeatedly requests (but does not take) a Republican primary ballot. As he explained to Breitbart.com: "We wanted to remind viewers this is not a partisan issue. This is a situation wherein anyone -- Republican or Democrat -- can exploit the system."
The new video follows in the wake of a highly-politicized media attack on Mr. O’Keefe after his exposure of voter fraud in New Hampshire. Those videos resulted in calls from the left for O’Keefe’s arrest. However, the videos soon resulted in the New Hampshire State Senate passing a new bill requiring voter ID.
O'Keefe's new video from Vermont could not be more timely, coming the day after the U.S. Department of Justice's civil rights division blocked a Texas photo ID requirement for voters--to the applause of the American Civil Liberties Union, which claimed that the law was “discriminatory” against “Latinos, African-Americans, elderly citizens, and others.”
As the Project Veritas video shows, the current system in Vermont discriminates against actual legal voters, who must face the prospect of disenfranchisement by those who would vote in their stead illegally, or have their votes cancelled out by those voting illegally in place of deceased voters who have yet to be removed from the rolls. If it is not discriminatory for Vermont citizens to be required to show ID to get married or buy alcohol, it is certainly not discriminatory to make them show ID to vote.
O'Keefe is a piece of shit.

Today, Blago must have found out he can't bring his footlocker full of hair care products with him to prison.
If Gingrich gets out, then the 60+% of the R electorate that has been voting against Romney will continue to do so, only now for one conservative candidate instead of two. And the 30+% of the R electorate that has been voting for Romney will continue to do so. Romney will start losing a lot.
But if Gingrich stays in and that Gingrich/Santorum split continues (and I suspect it will), Romney will keep getting his 30+%, Gingrich and Santorum will each get their 30-%, and Romney wins the nomination. He will be a rare example of a nominee that never won his own party's base.
If Gingrich and Santorum hadn't split the conservative vote, Romney wouldn't have won two of his biggest states - OH or MI. Even you, IB, would have to admit that.Romney is going to take the rest, with or without Newt Gingrich in the race.

So a few days ago one of our boys went fucking psycho and killed 16 Afghan civilians. Total outrage. Today 13 Afghans are killed by a roadside device most probably not planted there by our boys. Can't wait to see the outrage.

You assume that if Gingrich wasn't there, they'd vote for Santorum. I disagree. I think that the only reason there are Gingrich voters is because there are a bunch of conservatives who can't get themselves to vote for Santorum because he is such a dumbass. Why else would they not be already voting for Santorum instead of Gingrich with all of Newt's problems? They'll vote for Romney because they know people can legitimately change positions on healthcare or abortion. You can't change dumbass...Professor Tiger wrote:Today, Blago must have found out he can't bring his footlocker full of hair care products with him to prison. If Gingrich and Santorum hadn't split the conservative vote, Romney wouldn't have won two of his biggest states - OH or MI. Re: Puterbac News Network and Political Discussion Thread
Ummm, maybe the reason all those Gingrich voters still insist on voting for Gingrich is Gingrich is still in the race? You assume that if Gingrich wasn't there, they'd vote for Santorum. I disagree. I think that the only reason there are Gingrich voters is because there are a bunch of conservatives who can't get themselves to vote for Santorum because he is such a dumbass.
I'm not sure why a conservative Gingrich voter would now vote for a moderate when there is still a conservative available. If the story of this primary season has taught us anything, it's that 60+% of R voters will vote for just about ANYBODY BUT Romney. I don't see any reason why that pattern will change now.
But yes, Santorum is far from impressive. His two selling points are:
1. If you are a socially conservative (especially evangelical) Republican voter, Santorum is totally reliable to advance your agenda whereas Romney is totally not. That part of the R electorate is essentially the base of the party, and for them the choice between Romney and Santorum is a no-brainer.
2. For the overwhelming majority of R electorate whose #1 priority is to nominate a candidate that can beat Obama, the argument that only Romney can beat Obama is completely unsupported by the polls. According to:
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/latest_polls/
Rasmussen Tracking
General Election: Romney vs. Obama Obama 45, Romney 47 Romney +2
General Election: Santorum vs. Obama Obama 46, Santorum 45 Obama +1
So Romney's electability edge over Santorum is within the margin of error. Big deal.

Have you noticed that the Afghans didn't go nearly as crazy with the shooting of their civilians than they did when we burned their Korans? I think it's because the murder victims were mostly women and children. That means that the adult victims were female and half the child victims were female. In Afghan eyes, the only real tragedy was the death of the boys.Jungle Rat wrote:So a few days ago one of our boys went fucking psycho and killed 16 Afghan civilians. Total outrage. Puterbac ranted a few pages back about O'Keefe finding a problem where none existed, but he missed this one...
http://www.h-online.com/security/news/i ... 63881.html
Researchers at the University of Michigan have reported that it took them only a short time to break through the security functions of a pilot project for online voting in Washington, D.C. "Within 48 hours of the system going live, we had gained near complete control of the election server", the researchers wrote in a paperPDF that has now been released. "We successfully changed every vote and revealed almost every secret ballot." The hack was only discovered after about two business days – and most likely only because the intruders left a visible trail on purpose.

Obama has done a fine job of digging America out of the hole Bush dug for us. Handcuffed by bitter crybabies who would rather pad their pockets instead of representing the actual wishes of the people who elected them. (See Republicans). I think this November is going to show us that Americans don't like Republicans anymore.
