Heh. I debated it for a half second. I thought if I just said "Hop Sing" instead of "houseman from 'Bonanza'" that the reference would be lost.hedge wrote:"the houseman from "Bonanza""
Damn, now Hop Sing is referred to as the houseman? For shame. Actually, "houseman" is probably more dignified than the obviously sassful "Hop Sing"...
Well done hedge.

Just got done watching the first season of Archer. It has replaced Harvey Birdman as my morning workout ritual. Holy shit snacks!! Why haven't I been watching this show from the beginning???
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

Netflix just added the second season last week.
I actually got an erection when I realized they added it.
I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

Speaking of erections, in all honesty, Lana is the closest a cartoon has come to making the blood flow to Holland for me.
I didn't realize S2 was up on Netflix. I will watch that next week after I finish S2 of The League.

H Jon Benjamin. He's also a minor character in Venture Bros, he's the mini mart guy on Family Guy, he was a couple ancillary voices on Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and was Coach McGuirk in Home Movies.

ATM is money on the H Joh Benjamin. I love Bob Burger's and glad it is coming back.
The red head chick just kills me along with the HR chick. I see DS tearing that shit up non-stop. "Sploosh".

As hot as Lana is along with Caroline, the hottest woman cartoon is Lois Griffin. She is a freak

Re: UCLA Bruins
Which is the chick from Archer who did anal with Ceril (sp?)?
If it's the redhead, then yes, she is in the running.

I'd guess its relatively modern even though his favorite car is a 1970 Dodge Challenger, they drink scotch out of tumbler glasses on ice and his father is KGB.
One episode had them breaking into an Italian building with a laser security system and they use GPS and laptops among other references.

Re: UCLA Bruins
The spy shit they use is all ancient cold war era crap. Monochrome monitors and a giant mainframe, and dot matrix printers. Plus Woodhouse is a WWI vet.
Yet, as you mention they make modern cultural references, have cell phones/voice mail, etc.
As an aside, my boss looked at me funny a couple days ago when my phone rang. My ringtone is Archer's Mulatto Butts tone.

Re: UCLA Bruins
AVC: There’s a lot of conflicting ideas and images in the show. The computers look kind of dated, but they use cell phones. The KGB is still a big threat, but then the characters will make reference to Dane Cook. Where or when does this show take place?
AR: Well, it’s sort of intentionally ill-defined, if it’s defined at all, which I guess it really isn’t. I really liked the design aesthetic of the mid-century modern for furniture and the early ’60s stuff for the clothes. But then, personally, I’m a huge fan of 1970s muscle cars. Cell phones is just a laziness thing because it’s so much easier to have somebody have a cell phone than have to go to a phone booth. So we’re sort of, I guess, cherry-picking the best and easiest from several decades.

Our Five Favorite Facts About Archer‘s Lana Kane
1) She’s a real person with a sexy job.
All of the Archer characters are Atlanta-area residents caricatured by the animators. Somewhere in Hartstfield-Jackson Airport toils the hottest flight attendant ever, which sure is saying something. Let us take you away from this life of jet-setting drudgery and secretly being a spy, lovely lady of the sky.

Re: UCLA Bruins
The surprising thing to me about this article wasn't that Tatum O'Neal is sent to rehab, but that she is only 48 years old. I know she started out young, but it seems like she's been around forever.
