We don't really have enough information yet, but barring any huge upsets in the conferance tourneys, I think our number ones will be Duke, Syracuse, Kentucky, & (for lack of any obvious choice) Murray State (given they will end the season @ 30-1). I really want to hesitate putting such a little-itty-bitty team in as a number one (particularly when SDSU @ 33-2 was only a 2) but at this point, who would be that 4th and final #1? All the best teams from the power conferances have way too many regular season losses and more losses will be coming. Murray State is just a c-nt hair away from being 31-0.

That is the whole point of my post, I don't know who gets that last #1 spot. It isn't obvious. There will be some tough choices (particularly if the best Big-XII(10) teams keep losing to each other.)

While its not unusual that #1 seeds don't make the final four, its still pretty rare that a 6 seed or higher is there the final weekend.

there are two points I am making, each not related to the other

first point, i'm not talking about the final four. i'm talking about which teams will be the four #1 teams with the initial bracket of the whole 64.

I'm saying three of those four are obvious. the fourth is far from obvious, could be Murray State (probably wont be), could be Kansas(probably wont be), Mizzou(probably wont be), maybe even Baylor(probably wont be). But it has to be someone. I would have said Michigan State, but know we know it really can't be them.

My point #2 about my VCU and Butler comments to Cletus stem from my rational belief that we are going to have a Cinderella. The Richmonds, the Cornells, these Cinderellas are getting far too common place. I don't know who it is, but we will have at least one (we always do.) I think this year, it might be Wichita State but it could be VCU (again.)
