If you like the wishbone, you become a fan of either GA Tech or the service academies.

Oh I don't want to run it unless Paul Johnson is my coach. I just like to see it occasionally.

That's right! AA used to say that Paul Johnson was the best coach in America. Now he might say that Paul Johnson is the second best coach in America.

Maybe Coach Johnson will replace The Saban someday, and you'll get your wish.

I thought AA was a Mike Price fan?

AA likes Price, and wonders how well Price would have done had he had ever been the head coach at Alabama.

Paul Johnson is a very good coach, but I doubt he'll ever replace the Saban. Best (or second) in America? I'll defer on that one. If he did replace The Saban you can bet the players would run through a brick wall for him

Mike Price would have made a better coach than Mike Shula, or Mike DuBose for that matter. Shame he didn't sign the contract and accept the job. Just more proof there should never be a head football coach at Alabama named Mike.

Amazing that the University of Alabama issued a company credit card to a supposed "non-employee." I wonder who paid the bill for that ill-fated business trip to Florida - Price or his employer/credit card issuer, University of Alabama.

We got ANOTHER great OL today: Four star Alex Kozan signed his schollie today and will count towards the 2012 class:

http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2012 ... ur-st.html

That gives this class 2 five star and 3 four star offensive linemen. That bumps it up to the #6 class in the country with a 3.67 average star rating. Chizik, and especially Grimes, can really recruit.

I love Troop. I love all our coaches (I can finally say that with a straight face now that Roof is gone). But the position where our recruiting has been especially dominant over the past three years has been OL. For that I give extra applause to Grimes.

Now he needs to take the mother lode of talent he has recruited and turn them into monsters.

We had the best QB and the highest scoring offense in our history. Yet,

1. We beat Miss. St. by 3.
2. We beat Clemson by 3.
3. We beat Kentucky by 3.
4. We beat LSU by 7.
5. We beat Alabama by 1.
6. We beat Oregon by 3.

Our defense sucked in 2010. And 2011. Thank God and Greyhound Roof's gone.

Did you hear the story of the Alabama music coordinator that got fired for playing "Take the Money and Run" and "Son of a Preacher Man" during Auburn taking the field at the Iron Bowl?

That is funny. I am a life long Alabama fan, but I am glad the SEC is at the top again and I dont care how much it cost.

More good news on the OL front: Shon Coleman was rated the #7 OT in the country when he signed with Auburn in 2010. Sadly, he got lymphoma before he played a down. He kept his schollie, stayed in school, went through chemo, and remained on the team roster. He became very popular with both the team and the fans.

He just got cleared to play football again, and is expected to participate in spring drills. No one knows if he will be a major force on the OL, but it is nice to see him overcoming cancer and getting back to a game and school he apparently loves.

Heh. Auburn basketball is being accused of point shaving? That's truly hilarious. That's like a story about Vandy or Kentucky point shaving in football. In order to shave points, you must have points to shave, which we seldom do. Our basketball program is pathetic, and has been for decades.

Maybe we'll be guilty and the NCAA will throw the book at us. Nobody will notice.

Correct. Thus says the NCAA. The smear campaign failed.

We just recruited a couple of 4 star BB players, which is shockingly good for us. My guess is some Bama people don't like this sign of a pulse and are getting their friends in the sports media write negative stories in order to put a stop to it, like, right now.
