My cousin has liver damage from alcohol (primarily). My grandmother was an alcoholic. The doctor told her she couldn't drink beer any more so she switched to ripple, lots and lots and lots of ripple (her "wine" of choice). She had it hidden all over the house.

She turned 99 on Feb 8, 2012.
My Dad is my hero still.
