Re: Florida State Seminoles
Always good to get a road win against an upper tier ACC team. Was it as ugly as the blogs are making it out to be? Hard to believe Gugliotta got kicked out of his own team's building...wonder what they were yelling at the refs?

Karl Hess is a moron and grandstander of the highest order so it wouldnt surpise me if turns out he kicked out the wrong people or was just in the wrong.

FSU RB Thompson expected back for spring drills
12:27 AM, Feb. 22, 2012 |
Democrat staff report
The Florida State football team will be without a handful of key players when spring practice cranks up next month, but there also will be a couple of very happy returns.
Senior tailback Chris Thompson, who went down a broken back midway through last season, has healed and is expected to participate in spring drills, FSU announced Tuesday. The former Madison County star was the Seminoles' starting tailback when he was injured and will give FSU much-needed experience in the backfield.
Also healthy is senior quarterback EJ Manuel, who finished the Champs Sports Bowl with a previously undisclosed broken fibula. The injury did not require surgery.
The Seminoles will be without a few key linemen, however.
Offensive linemen Jacob Fahrenkrug (left shoulder), Garrett Faircloth (hip) and Daniel Foose (lower back) all will miss spring after undergoing offseason surgeries. The same goes for defensive linemen Jacobbi McDaniel and Bjoern Werner (right shoulder).
Several other Seminoles underwent minor procedures but should be back for spring, and that list includes: DT Darious Cummings (knee), PK Dustin Hopkins (left knee), DT Anthony McCloud (knee) and CB Xavier Rhodes (left knee). Safety Karlos Williams, who sustained a wrist fracture in the regular-season finale at Florida, had successful surgery and is expected to practice this spring.

Re: Florida State Seminoles
Either EJ is one tough sumbitch (to play over a half with a broken leg) or that's BS. I hope he's healthy this year especially his shoulder.
Great to have Thompson back, he was more exciting to watch than Freeman, though Freeman seems to be a more complete RB.
Speaking of RB, Wilder getting arrested is disappointing. It looks like he 'pushed' a cop who was arresting his girlfriend...hopefully it was a minor incident and will get plead down to resisting w/o violence.

Update: FSU tailback James Wilder Jr. arrested
Player charged with obstructing an officer

Police came to Florida State University tailback James Wilder's Chapel Drive apartment just after 11 a.m. Wednesday looking for his girlfriend, Bianca Camarda, 20.
According to the probable cause affidavit, there was a warrant out for her arrest for failing to appear in court. She is facing charges of criminal mischief and property damage valuing more than $1,000.
The affidavit for her arrest said she poured Lysol over 23 hats, eight pairs of shoes and $1,500 worth of clothing, damaging them beyond repair on Dec. 6, 2011. All the property belonged to Wilder.
Wilder was attempting to stop police from arresting Camarda when he was arrested as well, the affidavit said.
In today's paper
Florida State University football player James Wilder Jr. faces two criminal charges stemming from an incident early Wednesday afternoon when a Leon County Sheriff's deputy tried to arrest his girlfriend.
Wilder was charged with obstructing a law-enforcement officer with violence and battery on a law-enforcement officer, according to his attorney, Tim Jansen, who said his client was released from Leon County Jail late Wednesday afternoon after posting a $2,000 bond — $1,000 for each charge.
Jansen said both charges are felonies.
"It's an unfortunate situation," Jansen said. "There was miscommunication between him and the officer. He never touched the officer, and he never attempted to touch the officer."
The incident started when Leon County Sheriff's deputy Donnie Bramblett tried to serve an arrest warrant on Wilder's girlfriend, Bianca Camarda, for failure to appear at a Tuesday court appearance.
Camarda was at Wilder's Chapel Drive apartment on Wednesday afternoon when Bramblett tried to arrest her.
"(Wilder) tried to explain to the officer what had happened — that her lawyer did not notify her about her court appearance," Jansen said. "He tried to show the officer a text message from the lawyer that said, 'Come to court today and we'll clear this up.'
"The officer got upset and said, 'No, she has to go.' "
According to a news release issued by LCSO, Bramblett said Wilder stepped between him and Camarda and then pushed the deputy.
"The deputy was able to regain control of the situation by unholstering his Taser and advising Wilder that he would be tased if he continued to interfere," the release said. "Wilder then began yelling obscenities while continuing to say Camarda was not going to jail."
According to the release, Wilder was arrested without further incident after Camarda was placed in a patrol car.
Jansen said he filed a notice Wednesday afternoon for a court date.
FSU athletic department policy mandates that an athlete facing a felony charge is indefinitely suspended until the case is resolved.
"My client never obstructed or attempted to obstruct," Jansen said. "He tried to explain to the officer what was going on."
Wilder, 20, was one of the top running back recruits in the country a year ago as a senior at Tampa Plant High. He earned playing time as a true freshman at FSU this past fall and was the Seminoles' third-leading rusher.
He carried the ball 35 times for 160 yards and one touchdown.
Camarda, 20, was charged with failure to appear for her previous criminal mischief charge.

Yeah the Dukies were just too hot from 3 point land last night. We actually played pretty well but they were on fire.
RIP Hizzy. I'm still SMH over that one.

Re: Florida State Seminoles
Nice to see a clean schedule come out. Whereas last year was a challenge (toughest game of the year in OU followed by toughest conf game at Clemson), this year looks very reasonable. Only one Thursday game @VT, but a weekend off to prepare for it. A relatively easy game vs BC before traveling to Miami, followed by Duke before VT. USF remains a trap game sandwiched between Clemson and NCSU but there's no question this is the most favorable schedule I can remember.
Here's to a healthy season!

Yep, Senior QB, quality depth, and a good schedule...no excuses. If the OL can be serviceable, this should be a conference title contender. If the OL can be excellent, this should be a MNC contender.

Are we going to have a Message Board Loser get-together this year? I'm considering going to the USF game in Tampa since that's Mrs. Kevi's hometown and she's been wanting to get back, but haven't decided if I want to see any games in Tally.

Another miracle win for the hardcourt team last night at Virginia. This team seems to have something that we haven't had in several years, hope they can keep the momentum into the tourney(s).
