Yeah, I'm watching my back now that the Enquirer went to only comments posted via your Facebook account. I'm still gonna be the same but I'm also gonna rescue a pit bull.

Jefferson allegedly help France write their Declaration of the Rights of Man and framed it more about defining general rights, than the specifics laid out in our Constitution.
Our Constitution is terse and old, and it guarantees relatively few rights. The commitment of some members of the Supreme Court to interpreting the Constitution according to its original meaning in the 18th century may send the signal that it is of little current use to, say, a new African nation. And the Constitution’s waning influence may be part of a general decline in American power and prestige.

The GOP is so fucked up. I bet 99% of America didn't associate that ad with Obama or any politician (perhaps other than Reagan's morning in America) and instead of promoting a brighter future of America by getting behind this ad, they want to doom and gloom America.

I am so fucking sick of the GOP trying to keep Americans scared and living in a bomb shelter. I'm not a democrat, I'm not a liberal, but I want to be associated with a party of optimist, a party of "we can fix this, there is an answer" - not a bunch of whiney ass old men who think tipping the kid parking their car in the valet is trickle down economics.

'Following the fall out over the controversial Chrysler Super Bowl halftime ad, Clint Eastwood spoke exclusively with O’Reilly Factor producer Ron Mitchell…

"I just want to say that the spin stops with you guys, and there is no spin in that ad. On this I am certain.

l am certainly not politically affiliated with Mr. Obama. It was meant to be a message about just about job growth and the spirit of America. I think all politicians will agree with it. I thought the spirit was OK.

I am not supporting any politician at this time.

Chrysler to their credit didn’t even have cars in the ad.

Anything they gave me for it went for charity.

If any Obama or any other politician wants to run with the spirit of that ad, go for it."

Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod tweeted his support for the ad last night. When asked about it on Fox News today, former GW Bush advisor Karl Rove said he was “offended” by the ad and accused the Obama’s “political minions” of “using our tax dollars to buy corporate advertising.” White House spokesman Jay Carney insisted at today’s briefing there was “no” involvement by the administration.

It might be meaningless and even a little sappy to get behind a simple message but goddammit, I still believe when John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, hell, I'd even listen to Billy Dee Williams (the Colt 45 Billy Dee, not the fruity star wars backstabber Billy Dee) - when they tell you America is coming back, you don't shit all over it.

It's funny because Clint is a Republican (and was not for the auto bailout).

The GOP is blinded by their own philosophy of obstructionism and nihilism...in the effort to regain 1600 Pennsy. I think it started off as political strategy and has overtaken them into full worldview. It's sad.

It's like that Stanford Prison Experiment back in 1970.

Looking way too deep into this. This is democrat philosophy circa 2000-2008. ie, it has nothing to do with party at all, its merely bullshit politics. When Bush was in office things were always doom and gloom, and Rush was on the radio every day claiming it was the Dems who were invested in things being crappy. You claim things are shit when the other guys are in charge. Standard preaching to the fucking sheeple.

They took a bunch of kids and made some prisoners locked in a basement at Stanford and made some other kids guards, and even though they were just students, it only took like a week for the guards started beating them down and treating them like scum while the prisoners quickly adapted, some became snitches, etc.

I agree, to a point. That's why I drew the line between strategy vs. worldview. The GOP has such a hard on for "NO" that they cut against their own platform. The case in point being the payroll tax debacle.

The DEMs would talk plenty shit about Bush's actions and policies...and get plenty of doom and gloom rhetoric out in the media sphere. However, I challenge you to show where the DEMs took that methodology for framing tone and took it to full-on "argue/legislate against your own principles" action.

If anything, the DEMs talked a bunch and let Bush get everything he wanted through the legislature. The DEMs got the label of "pussies" through hard work and action. It isn't just an empty slogan for them.

You've got to be kidding me.

Both sides claim politics as payroll tax cut extension stalls again

http://www.cnn.com/2012/02/07/politics/ ... ?hpt=hp_t3

.....Republicans insist the deal must be fully paid for by cutting spending elsewhere in the federal budget. Altogether the package would cost an estimated $160 billion. The latest fight centers, once again, on where lawmakers will find those cuts. Democrats want to cover the cost of the package by imposing a surtax on income over $1 million and eliminating some corporate tax subsidies, like those going to oil and gas companies. Republicans have proposed paying for a deal, in part, by extending the current pay freeze on federal workers and requiring wealthier seniors to pay higher Medicare premiums......
My Dad is my hero still.
