Eli yelled as he handed off, "Don't score!" but he couldn't stop in time.

Peyton seems to be next contract friendly if he hits the FA market and SF was just in the Championship game. The two questions are, after so many average at best years was Smith year a fluke, and how healthy is Peyton really?

that awkward moment when you don't know if you're supposed to score or not. I'd take the 6 points anyway. don't leave it up to a kicker. ever if you can help it.

Vegas made out on the first player to score odds (unless the safety was awarded to the Giant defender closest to Brady ( who wasn't likely to have been on the board anyway) but probably took a bath on the under. 55 was too much even with the mediocre defenses.

What kind of cap room does Denver have?

Perhaps the only way Elway could shut up the Denver fans over starting Tebow is to bring in Peyton

From a story about a dad who took his blind Giants fan son to the Super Bowl:

"Jon Miller is 12 years old and has suffered from cone-rod dystrophy and Batten's Disease since 2006. His condition is uncurable and as it has worsened; his sight has deteriorated to the point where he is essentially blind.

An avid New York Giants fan, Jon sits in his living room in Tampa, Fla., and listens to Eli Manning and Big Blue on the radio every weekend. The only thing that kept him from hearing the end of the Giants' thrilling overtime conclusion to the NFC Championship game was his bedtime."

He made his son go to bed and miss the end of the NFC championship? Goddamn...

The son could've said "How do you know I'm not asleep right now? I don't have to close my eyes"...

Poor kid needed an old transistor radio to hide under his pillow like I did as a kid. Maybe dad was bringing in a hooker.

At this point, I don't think anyone other than the folks in Honolulu would be upset. Just name the All-Pros and let's move on.

It's a long shot, given Houston's professional football history, but if the Texans are holding the Lombardi Trophy by this time next year, this city's going to be shutdown for a good two weeks.

Of course, I've already jinxed it, so Spacer and aggy are already wishing bad shit on me, but I'm just saying...
Fuck you! Also, the following is a real string of IM's between me and a friend from November 14, 2011
12:51 PM me: so Im pretty sure the city is right on the cusp of texans fever
12:52 PM friend: really
12:52 PM friend:and what would that entail
12:52 PM me: people talking about them constantly
12:53 PM me: a sunday afternoon where you walk outside and its like a ghost town because teh entire city is in front of a tv
12:53 PM friend: so jacksonville will be the deciding factor?
12:53 PM me: at this point i think its going to be difficult for them not to be 2nd or 1st in the AFC and get a bye and a home game
12:54 PM me: they will beat jville and atlanta
12:54 PM me: that makes them 9-3
12:54 PM me: cinci could beat us i suppose
12:54 PM me: i think its a possibility that they go 13-3
12:54 PM friend: interesting
12:55 PM friend: are you getting the fever?
12:55 PM me: no just looking at it
12:55 PM friend: thats how it starts
12:55 PM me: Did you know that they are the best team in the AFC right now?
12:56 PM friend: listen to you
12:56 PM me: tied with Pitt, who we beat and have tiebreaker over
12:56 PM me: i was kinda surprised when i looked
12:56 PM friend: mmm hmm
12:56 PM me: and we play a bunch of awful teams
12:57 PM me: it's just the truth!
12:57 PM me:anyway, its almost impossible not to make the playoffs, so there definietly will be a playoff weekend this year
12:57 PM friend: against who, ravens?
12:58 PM me: who knows
12:58 PM me: the ravens might not make the playoffs
12:58 PM me: although they probably will
1:00 PM me: Houston is #1 in point differential, #2 in total offense, #3 in total defense, #2 in turnover margin
1:00 PM me: super bowl type numbers!
1:00 PM me: these are the facts!

....

3:53 PM me: Matt Schaub got hurt, Leinart to start in 2 weeks, season over
4:13 PM friend: what?!
4:13 PM friend: is this the fever talking
4:13 PM me: fever just broke
4:14 PM me: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/72350 ... oot-injury
4:14 PM friend: ya, just read that
4:14 PM friend: oh well
4:15 PM friend: it was a good run
5:12 PM me: Source: Matt Schaub out for year
5:12 PM me: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/72350 ... anc-injury

When will wives or girlfriends learn. When we lose a game or something at work pisses us off, you can't be in our face jumping at the chance to be our comforter. There is no emotional void, we don't need to be saved. We just need to be left alone for awhile and you need to disappear before we say something that will hurt you. If you want to help, wait about 6 hours, dress in your best lingerie and heels, walk by and say, "Whenever you are ready, we can do anything you want, and I mean ANYTHING"

That is how you comfort a grieving husband...

Women needs to stay out of the man cave and have their own room to watch the Super Bowl. I banished at least 3 last night back upstairs to the living room because they wouldn't shut the hell up.

Bradshaw can tell his grandchildren 50 years from now that he scored the winning touchdown in the Super Bowl with his ass.

The Giants may have backed into the playoffs but they BUTTED into a Super Bowl win.

Guess this gives a new meaning to the term END ZONE.

"“I’d love to keep coming back to this game and taking a shot,” Brady had said. “It’s better than sitting at home and not playing in this game.”"

Totally agree.
