Peters is higher ranked than Santos

Based on his weight sure seemed like he was headed to a DE position anyway.

I'm worried about our DBs and LBs. On signing day, we get Tino Thomas at DB. Everyone is ranking him at 3 stars which isn't bad assuming he's got heart and is willing to work hard. At 5' 11", 195 lbs., he isn't going to scare anyone nor will his height force QB's to lob it way over his head. The other guys it appears we are going to get are 6' 1" or so. I'm not seeing speedsters or any monsters who can be brought up to pound the line. If a team gets past our front line, which several teams on our schedule can, it's basically wide open running for the ball carrier/reciever who can just about guarantee 4+ yards every time. Is it possible to raid the juco ranks?

Good thing is our defensive front is slowely shaping up to be pretty good. Another possible bright spot is signee Cody Blanc. He's listed as an athlete. His bio shows he's had a fair amount of work on defense and has done good there. At 6' 1" and 200 lbs with what appears to be a fairly big frame, he could potentially be the next Will Overstreet. Heck, his videos show him running back some damn nice kickoffs too.

Fantastic news is it appears our offense is recruiting well and comming along fine. Assuming no major shakeups happen in the coaching staff to disrupt things (such as our OC suddenly bolting...), we should be fine next season with the following season seeing us being pretty gosh darn good on offense.

The defense sure is worrying me thought...

You know, fuck that Arnett with a dead goat. If that pussy had stayed here instead of up and bolting for a team close to home like Notre Dame (yeah, right...) we would've been fairly loaded at WR. As tall, big, and fast as some of those guys are, we may have been able to talk one to going to the defense and playing.

Fuck him I say.

This class looks like it's going to fill some needs on defense, too. We still have a good chance at a top 10 rated class.

I think Arnett was imagining how few passes there were likely to be left over after Tyler was done distributing the ball between Da'Rick and Justin. I think he was also looking at some of the guys we have coming in and was not crazy about having to compete against them for playing time. That and Baggett taking off probably had some impact on his decision.

There is the potential to fill in some holes on defense. As I alluded to in my previous post, I'm worried and ultimately not holding my breath when it comes to the defense.

I'm not all that confident about a 10 ten class. Top 15 perhaps with a top 20 being very possible. But not top 10. Recruiting isn't over yet but this article currently shows us at 26th:

http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=9&c=14&yr=2012

I saw another one somewhere that was roughly the same as this one. 26th considering what has happened to us the past 4 seasons with all the uncertainty and such which leads to concerned recruits isnt' bad. However, if we want to compete and lay the ground for a better future, we need to shoot for the top 20. If that happens, I'll be impressed with Coach Dooley.
