Could be Buddy Green, yes. Apparently he's meeting with DD and Hart at this very moment.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
It would be nice to get the hire made, whoever it turns out to be. I think a lot of people will be less-than-impressed with Green, but his resume is pretty strong, IMO. If his long tenure at a service academy suggests that he will be a high character, organized coach with an expectation of discipline and hard work from his players, then I think that's a positive. He's been a multiple Broyles Award nominee for top assistant coach of the year while working for my old high school classmate, Ken Niumatalolo. He is a former head coach at UTC and has had success wherever he has been.
Hiestand is reportedly the latest coach to go elsewhere. He wasn't very popular with the fans, but his loss will still be touted as yet more evidence that Dooley is the captain of a sinking ship. It's been a long off-season already, with numerous players and coaches leaving (Matt Milton being the latest player that I know of). It's time to start re-grouping and getting some stability back.

Milton was nudged out the door. A nice kid...I met him at Charlie Bagget's house on Thanksgiving Day...but the suspension was the last straw. Hopefully he recommits to practicing, and says no to weed as well.
ND can have Hiestand (and vice versa).

Wow!! According to the previously posted article which listed some possible names as a DC for us, Dooley went after Steele as DC when Dooley was first hired on here and was looking for a staff. I'm liking the sound of this. Steele sounds like a good DC coach. Ideally, we want someone to come in here who Dooley is passionate about. Dooley likes him. Re: Tennessee Volunteers
The Vols announced on Thursday that Sam Pittman had been hired to coach the offensive line after Harry Hiestand bolted for the Notre Dame offensive line job.
Pittman was at North Carolina for the past five seasons and part of Butch Davis' original staff there in 2007. Just prior to the 2011 season, Pittman was promoted to associate head coach, replacing John Blake, who resigned one game into the 2010 season after being linked to NCAA allegations that triggered an investigation of the Tar Heels' football program. Pittman was named as one of the country's top 25 recruiters by ESPN.com in 2011. He was at Northern Illinois before joining Davis at North Carolina.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Supposed to be a good recruiter. I hope he can bring some top OL talent, because we desperately need it. The timing of this hire is curious, because Hiestand was only just officially announced as going to Notre Dame. And Hiestand was rumored to be on the outs since before the season ended. So has the Pittman hire been in the cards for a while now? Kind of seems that way.

Buddy Greene is the king of the prevent defense and Kevin Steele's D just gave up 70 to west by god virginia. good luck with either hire.
U*NC is the cleanest most honest athletic program on the planet. I am jealous of their deserved success, and I'm a mewling cunt.

I hate to see this. A great coach. Father to a safety at Bama (leave him alone), his other son is a QB at Pitt.

KNS is now reporting that it is Sunseri. That's the first report from an established news organization, as far as I know.
