Mark Barron reportedly jumped and shouted , "Be careful! That's my ring finger."

GBJ

It's not that it was a defensive game. It's that it was a totally uncompetitive blowout. And LSU's offense was awful.

Although I do get tired of the arguments where a 7-3 game is REAL football and anyone preferring a 3 TD or (God forbid) 4 TD game is a namby-pampy, wishy-washy, foppish, dandy, sissy-pants. God damn Knute Rockne, Bill Walsh, the forward pass, and all innovations to the game since Walter Camp last laced up his cleats.

Bama's defense played masterfully. I don't expect you to think that game was anything but beautiful. But speaking as an outsider who didn't have a rooting interest and only wanted a competitive, exciting matchup, it was pretty disappointing. I think you can appreciate that. If Oklahoma dominated FSU in the title game 21-0, scoring 5 FG's and missing an extra point along the way, would you consider it one of the greatest games ever played?

LMAO @ Hack riding the coattails of yet another SEC team, this time the one that's supposedly his most "hated rival".

ESPN announced Tuesday that the BCS National Championship Game drew the second-highest ratings in cable television history. It drew a 16.2 overnight rating, according to Nielsen. That's an average of 16,072,000 households and estimated 24,214,000 viewers.

Look where LSU's #60 steps.
If you felt the stompee should have been called for a holding penalty, you might be qualified to be an ACC ref.

Oh I hear ya DSL. What do the other fans want? An apology for those mean old Crimson boys for not letting LSU past the 50?? Hey, 10 - 7 is a 3 point win. So is 17-14. If your defense isn't good enough to keep your offense out of a shooting match like that though, well, I'm sorry for your fans.

Well, I guess there's a difference between us. You view a 17-14 game as a "shootout"

AA"s article refers to only cable ratings whereas mine measured ALL tv sets, which is how ratings are typically measured. Unless you're ESPN trying to put the best spin on things as possible.

There's really no reason the games were on ESPN rather than ABC except to lean even harder on cable companies and consumers. I eagerly am rooting for Fox to become a serious competitor to those clowns.

Did the smart-assery not come through in the post?

Then again since Saban has roamed our sidelines, scoring much ahead of 14 against UA could be viewed as an anomoly.
