Well, many believe the coed girlfriend was the distraction. Others believe he got mad and kinda gave up when his request for a new arena was shot down (we did remodel, though).

And the Ronald Steele mess didn't help.

Anyway, glad you're happy with him. Hope it lasts. Love to see UA alums doing well.

way to early to be happy with him or not. he's beat the teams he was supposed to and lost to who he was supposed to. he's an upgrade over Lowe but I would be too.I have asked you four or five times what his problem was at bama and so far "lazy" is the closest thing to an answer I've gotten.

I haven't noticed you asking "four or five times". I don't know exactly what his problem was, or what made him resign when he did. He was getting heat due to results, though, and word was he didn't like it. And like I said he was pissed at the no new arena thing, and the Ronald Steele brouhaha didn't help. The co-ed girlfriend rumor thing was a distraction, I suppose, but I don't think it was huge. The exact cause of his decline and resignation? I dunno. You'd have to ask him.

Here's a recap of his last few years:

* We made the Elite Eight in the 2003-4 season.

* 2004-5 we flamed out big to Milaukee in the first round of the NCAA.

* 2005-6 we went 18-13 overall and lost in the 2nd round of the NCAA.

* 2006-7 we went 7-9 in the SEC (after being picked to win the West) and lost in the first round of the NIT.

* 2007-8 we went 17-16 (5-11 in the SEC) and didn't even make the NIT.

* The next year he resigned mid-season with a 12-7 record.

Apparently the fouls get more blatant as the video progresses, but in the first 3 or 4 fouls I watched in that video, they aren't flagrant, its just that the big meat hook kids have no basketball talent, their timing is horrible and they are slow as molasses.

Believe me, after watching Gillispie recruit, I can spot those kinds of kids a mile away.

I'd say 3 or 4 of the 6 were flagrant. The second was definitely not a flagrant and one or two others were as you described them e, unathletic slow kids with shitty timing.
