I agree, I think he should read it.

That would be HUMONGOUS if that happened. Romney is sticking around Iowa Wednesday to do press, instead of heading to NH, because he's expecting a #2 finish...at worst.

I would be stunned if he fell into the "Show" category.

I think Romney wins with Paul second and Santorum getting all the Newt votes.

I'm amazed at so many voters switching their votes at this point.

Well, there are three camps, split amongst 6 candidates.
  • Establishment/"Can Conceivably Beat Obama" - Romney
    Small Govt Purists - Paul
Evangelicals - Santorum, Bachman, Perry, Newt
So, Paul may pick up or lose 5% from the Evangelicals and Romney may skim 3 or 4% from them, depending on what scandal breaks in that bucket, but largely those are where the votes lie. Romney gets about 1/4, Paul gets a little less than 1/5 and the rest of the field snaps up the remaining 55 - 60%. That band there is where all the volatility lies. If Huckabee was running, Iowa would've been wrapped up by Thanksgiving.

I actually expected Ron Paul to do better in New Hampshire given their "don't tread on me" attitude.

I'm afraid RP will have his moment in the sun, a decent showing in New Hampshire and then fade as the Superpacs push Romney to the forefront.

All I know is Tim Pawlenty is kicking the shit out of himself right about now. I've affectionately dubbed it "premature evacuation."

You never know what kind of back door deals are brokered. DeMint, Jingal, Ryan - there were some serious power players for president that never even considered it.

So necessary. I don't expect the noise to reach any decibel that would catch the ear of the masses, however:
On Sunday, I wrote this piece criticizing United States Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts for his mealy-mouthed annual report on the judiciary. The chief justice copped out, I believe, by failing to even mention the fact that lower-court federal judges all over the country are sorely understaffed (because of Republican intransigence in the Senate) and under unwarranted, and sometimes just plain crazy, political attack from conservative politicians.

I also found it odd, though I didn't mention it Sunday, that the chief justice did not mention the late John M. Roll, the Chief District Judge of Arizona, who was shot and killed in Tucson last January -- literally in the line of duty -- in the attack on Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. Judge Roll was in line to talk to Rep. Giffords at the supermarket that day to discuss the "judicial emergency" in Arizona caused by too few federal judges trying to handle too many cases.

Walker Recall not simply about a single issue like Collective Bargaining Rights...
Democrats and some Republicans and Independents with whom I’ve spoken here in Waukesha County have told me the same thing. They don’t want be “of the corporations, by the corporations and for the corporations.” They want a return to Democracy. And as Rep. Barca reiterated this morning, the “hallmark of American and Wisconsin Democracy” is first amendment rights. They want those back, too.

watched NBC news tonight.

Not a single mention of Ron Paul.

Their political said - voters will choose today on electability or ideology, a for Romney is for electability and a vote for SANTORUM is a vote for ideology.

...and with that Ron Paul has a slim hold on #1 (24%), Santorum at #2 (with 23%) and Romney in the Show position (also, 23%).

I'd love to for him to win just to force them to talk about him but I'm not optimistic Iowa is going to let that happen.

Considering Santorum's haul, that may be right.

This is a horrible night for Romney.
