yes, and I expect Warren Moon and Dan Fouts also have a bunch of big regular-season stats, too.

Sorry, thought the conversation was about the best quarterback.

Also find it odd you try to do a statistical comparison across eras in answering that question. If you haven't noticed, the rules of the game and the style of play have changed dramatically.

Or do you feel Jeff George was a better quarterback than Sammy Baugh, because he had 'bigger passing stats'?

I'm sorry, waiter, I think you're at the wrong table. I did not order rambling, nonsensical drivel.

Seriously, dude, you've lost your grasp on reality with this crusade. I'm talking about Brees, Brady and Manning and you're talking about Dan Fouts and you're accusing me of comparisons across eras?

Way to not answer my question, too. Expected, but still pitiful.

You've both lost your minds. This "argument" has gone on for 5 years.

Someone be the bigger man and let it drop.

There is only one person who can concede. I refuse to concede to an anti-logical argument.

Greatest QBs ever to play the game, based on Rickart logic:

1. T- Terry Bradshaw and Joe Montana
3. T- Troy Aikman and Tom Brady
5. T- Roger Staubach, John Elway, Bob Griese, Ben Roethlisberger, Bart Starr and Jim Plunkett
11. T- Kurt Warner, Doug Williams, Joe Theismann, Jeff Hostetler, Brad Johnson, Mark Rypien, Trent Dilfer and many others...

Just look at how quickly you can utterly obliterate such a stupid argument, with only the slightest effort.

As long as Rickart insists on making himself an easy punching bag, I'll oblige. One day, he might see the light and admit that he's still just smarting from being wrong about Ryan Leaf. I won't give up on him.

Bradshaw is who benefited the most from the talent around him.

Montana was a great QB happened to play on loaded teams, but he also showed up big in big games.

Brady and Manning are two sides of the same fucking coin.

Brady has been surrounded by better talent on defense and a better staff IMO. He has had to throw less, but he has also been excellent when needed in the clutch. It is ironic since camera gate that their playoff performance is significantly less. Manning has had more talent around him on offense, but a far worse defense and as we all know D does win championships.

Switch them and I think the records and stats switch with them. Peyton would have more SB wins and Brady would have better stats than now.

Oh and Brady had a kicker who made the kicks to win playoff games where Manning did not (at least twice).

just to give a little insight into Bradshaw. (not that I give a crap about this argument) but several years ago I was channel surfing an came across a pro-am skeet shooting contest. it was Bradshaw and a pro versus some country singer and a pro. anyway three rounds into the contest Bradshaw and his pro were several pigeons behind the other guys, and Terry started talking shit. and hitting pigeons. it didnt take long before Bradshaw and his guy had taken a lead and won going away. was bradshaw the best shot out there? no, but he cared more about winning that contest then anybody else and he made sure his team won. that kind of drive separates very good QB's from champions.

Without Bradshaw, the Steelers win two of the four. He may be dumber than Hacksaw, but unlike Hack, he knew what it took to win. Anybody who thinks the Colts would have made the playoffs with Manning, his offensive crew and that horrible defense this year needs a drug rehab intervention.

colts lost 6 games by 8 points or less.

manning being qb wins 5 of those easily if not all 6

they lost to cincy by 10 in the last two minutes--put manning in that game and see what would have happened

this colts team with a qb could have easily been 8-7 or 9-6 with jacksonville to play this weekend to clinch a playoff spot with manning in there

now if you'll excuse me I need to call Betty Ford

They won't listen Crash. I have tried to make this argument and what they fell to realize is that the defense looked so bad because the offense couldn't move the fucking ball and were back on the field after 3 plays.

If Manning is on this team this year, they win 10 games without question. They have done it for...I don't know...like a decade straight. When Manning comes back next year, they will win 10 games. Bank on it.

The point is that, like Brady, many of the QBs who are thought of as some of the greatest to ever play have benefitted greatly by playing on great teams. This is clearly not the case with Manning. Likewise, some of the truly great talents to ever play the position are probably not given their due, because they played for teams that were never serious contenders. That's what makes Manning so special. He has performed at a higher level than almost any other person who has ever played the position and made an otherwise mediocre (or worse) team a contender for over a decade.

I don't think there's any evidence that Brady could have done what Manning has -- or that anyone else could. Name another QB who has left a team that is as good as the Colts have been and had it become as bad as they are this season. With Brady, the evidence suggests the opposite. His team played on without him at a comparable level and actually won even fewer games the season after he came back. I cited other examples. There are lots of them.

All I'm doing is pointing out the facts. I realize that they make certain people uncomfortable, but I can't do anything about that.

Yeah, and if Dwight Clark was 1 inch shorter, he'd have at least one less SB ring.
