The Republican politburo in VA probably required Gingrich's and Perry's signatures to be in written Sanskrit.

We'll get the candidates the media wants us to have. That's why the R candidate will always look like a loser -- even when one of them manages to overcome the way they're portrayed and gets elected anyway.

I got two kids in college now home for Christmas. They are both huge Ron Paul enthusiasts, but can't really say why.

look up SOPA and NDAA. both of which Ron Paul is the only candidate of either party to oppose.

This should come as a surprise to exactly none of us.

Just watched this:

I would like to see some unbiased and responsible fact checking on this, but if the NDAA does indeed allow indefinite detention of US citizens without trial for national security reasons, then I'll be a Paul supporter too. This charge is not outlandish; Bush already tried that with Jose Padilla.

not to mention that the Obama administration has killed two American citizens without benefit of trial, appeal, charges being filed, etc. (not that they didnt need to be killed, but still...)

and sopa allows for the whole domain that this web site is hosted on to be shut down indefinitely should some third party claim that as little as one piece of copyrighted material is posted here.

That doesn't bother me in the slightest. If a German-American moved to Germany and enlisted in the Wehrmacht during WWII and got killed defending the beaches of Normandy, then Tango Sierra to him. Same goes for an American citizen who takes up arms against his own country and is killed on a foreign battlefield.

But a US citizen being arrested on US soil and being detained indefinitely without Constitutional due process, to me that's a completely different thing...

neither of the scumbags killed had actually taken up arms. a better analogy would be tokyo rose. should she have been killed in a bombing strike directed specifically at her in an undeclared war?

I wouldn't have a problem with an airstrike to take out a radio facility that Tokyo Rose just happened to be broadcasting from.

But I agree with the undeclared war part. I understand why the laws had to be adapted to the nuclear age, where a president might have mere minutes to respond to surprise Soviet launch. But congress has abdicated one of its most important responsibilities - to declare war. For example, there was no reason for us not to get an old fashioned congressional declaration of war for Operations Desert Storm or Iraqi Freedom. There was plenty of time to authorize it the right way..
